Chapter 1: Problems with the Aronnax

Ant's Pov.

We were just on the way to the next symbol that was shown on the map projected by the Nautichron, when the Aronnax stopped moving. "Mom, what's wrong?", I asked. "I don't know. It's probably nothing to bad. I'm quickly going to check on the engine. I'll be right back."

30 minutes later (A/n: italic and underlined means timeskip and just italic means that the person, no matter who's pov. it is, thinks the part)

"It's worse than I thought. Because of a short circuit the main engine overheated. I could only repair it so we have enough power to get to Professer Fiction's lab.", mom said.  "So that means we can't explore what the symbol on the map means?", I ask with a dissapointed voice."I'm sorry Ant, but as long as the Aronnax isn't fixed we can't go looking for what the symbol means. We will have to wait.", my dad explained, then he said to mom "Kaiko, I'm going to call Professor Genius and tell him what happend and tell him that we're on our way to the lab." "Okay, but come back later Will. We have to discuss what we're going to do in the time being while we can't be in the Aronnax.", my mom said and after that dad went to their room to discuss things with the professor. "I'm going to my room if you need me.", I said, the dissapointment clearly visible in my voice. I left the control room and made my way to my bedroom, quickly followed by Jeffrey.

Quick timeskip to when Ant reached his room

I sat down on my bed and started to complain about the situation to Jeffrey. "Why does this stupid engine has to stop working.", I said with a frown. I looked to him and he let some bubbles escape from his mouth and it also looked like he had plastered on his fish-face. Sometimes I feel like he is the only person, better said fish, who can understand me. I smiled at Jeffrey and said, "No matter if they say you can't understand me, I know you can." Then I heard my father, over the speakers, say, "Ant and Fontaine, come to the control room. We are going to discuss what we're going to do while the Aronnax is getting fixed." So I made my way to the control room.

Will's Pov.

After my talk with Professor Fiction I came back to the control, only to see that Fontaine and Ant weren't there anymore. But to be truthful it's better when they're not here, so that I can discuss with Kaiko what we're going to do. "So I talked Professor Fiction about the broken engine and he said that because it's already a little bit old, it was only a matter of time before it broke. He will order a new one, but for the engine to get to his lab it needs about a week, plus the time he needs to repair it, which will probably be about two weeks.", I said to my wife. "You know Will, I actually wanted to take like a holiday someday. Maybe we can go to Crete to a hotel which is called Knossos Beach. I got it recommended from a friend of mine, she went there and said it was beautiful and then one week to Vienna, because I always wanted to go there.", Kaiko said.  This isn't such a bad idea, I mean a holiday on the beach and then sightseeing can be relaxing. "I'm okay with your plan, I only hope the children will think so too. After we tell them of the plan I'm booking a room at this Knossos Beach and will look for a hotelroom in Vienna.", I told Kaiko."Good with me, can you please tell the children to come here?", she asked. " Of course.", I answered and did what she asked for.

Ant's Pov.

When I entered the control room, Fontaine was already there. It looks like they've been waiting for me. "Kids, we have to tell you that the Aronnax will be completly repaired in three weeks, that means your mother and I have decided that we will have a three week vacation." A what now?! "We decided to spent the first two weeks in Greece on Crete and the third week in Vienna.", Dad said. Fontaine was excited to have this trip, but I was the complete opposite of it. I mean who could be mad at me for it, I was happy to be going to explore what the sign meant and now I have to wait three whole weeks for it?! "But dad, I wanna know what that sign means. I can't wait for three whole weeks.", I said with a hint of sadness in my voice. "I know Ant, but we have no choice, without the Aronnax being full functionul.", dad said."Okay, but you at least have to promise me, that when we come back, we're going to drive exactly to where the sign is marked.", I asked with a kinda pleading voice and dad agreed.
After the talk, everybody, without mom because she obviously had to drive the Aronnax, went to pack they're clothes for the next three weeks and I really hope this vacation is worth it.
