1. What is your favorite genre while writing books?
It's been varying for the last year or so. Last year, I was into a fantasy/romance-LGBT novel and this year, it's been paranormal/romance.
You could say that I tend to jump around a bit from my usual fare.
2. Would you say your chapters are long or short?
LONG. LONG. LONG. Depending on the book, I could go for something in the 14-20 page range, while others are 10-12.
3. Do you update your books often?
I try. But sometimes, life gets in the way and you tend to lag a little in the update department.
4. What is your favorite type of music?
Lately, it's been metal and jazz music. I just got some new CDs for Christmas last year that I've been in love with. It's a bit different from my usual music selections. Next year, it could be alternative or world. It depends on what I find.
5. If you could meet anybody from any book you ever read, who would that person be, and what are they like?
There are a couple of characters I wouldn't mind meeting. Phedre no Delaunay from Kushiel's Dart and Cinder from the Lunar Chronicles saga.
Phedre's hellishly cool and very intimate in her job as an anguisette. Plus, she's a shrewd tactician when she wants to be and isn't afraid to go to bat for the little guy. She's also quite the accomplished courtesan and off and on fighter.
Cinder is a bit of an intriguing individual. Since she's a cyborg with a very creative mind, I'd say she's got a lot going for her and she doesn't know when to quit--even in the face of adversity. She's also able to pull off one heck of an upset and delay the plans of the Lunar Queen for another day.
I'd also like to know how she functions as an individual with her impairments. It must not be easy to be handicapped like that.
6. What would you say is your everyday style?
I honestly don't know what style I have. I never studied the great authors of our time--in the past 60 years--and decided to copy one of the great ones. I just took cues from different authors over the past twenty years or so and implemented them into my own writing.
7. How did you find Wattpad in the first place?
A Facebook ad. Saw it, thought, "Hey! A new social networking site! Time to dump the old one and try something new and hopefully better." (My last experience wasn't great.)
Me: Pfft. I know about bad social networking all the way :P
8. Do you do anything else on wattpad other than writing? Like covers and banners?
No, I'm afraid all my talent and skill sets are tied up into my writing. I'm also a fairly passable editor. But I still need a professional's touch.
9. Have you ever took time and became a co-writer?
On two occasions yes.
10. If you didn't feel like answering all these questions just to get an interview, would you have told me?
I'm very thorough with my answers at times, so this interview was satisfactory in my opinion.
