Chapter 1 - The Monster
Tate's ViewMy eyes filled with tears as I looked at my beloved and his friends. "W-What?" I whispered out, staring at Angel with blurry eyes. "It was all a fucking joke, Tate." He spat my name out as he laughed. I backed up a few steps and watched as he laughed with his friends.
The boy who took my first kiss. The boy who met my parents as my boyfriend. The boy I put up abuse from my parents for. The boy who took my virginity. The boy I planned a future with. My first love. It was all a joke, a dare from his friends. Get me to fall in love with him before 100 days.
Suddenly, my tears stopped. Suddenly, I didn't feel sadness anymore. The monster that took my first kiss. The monster who met my parents as my boyfriend. The monster I put up abuse from my parents for. The monster that took my virginity. The monster that I planned a future with. The monster I fell in love with. The monster, the monster, the monster.
Suddenly, I didn't feel sadness as the school's bad boy laughed with his friends at the oh so funny joke he pulled. Suddenly, I felt anger.
I wiped my hand against my cheeks, drying off the salty water as they mocked me. "If you say one more thing, you're going to regret it." I muttered. "What was that faggot, I couldn't hear you." One of the monster's friends spoke up.
"I'm sorry, let me talk louder. Angel, how would you feel if a little secret of yours spread around school?" I asked, glaring at him through my eyelashes. "What could you possibly have on me?" The monster spoke up. I didn't speak, smirking to myself. "That's right fairy, nothing." He laughed with his friends.
Oh I'll show them. Soon everybody will see you for the monster you really are.

I smirked as I walked down the hall normally, everybody whispering about the pictures posted up on the walls. "Oh my god, Tay! Have you seen this!" Harper yelled as she ran towards me. "What?" I acted clueless.
"There are pictures up all over the school of Angel Mendes raping a little girl! Isn't that horrible?!" She asked me, her face twisted with disgust at the thought. "And to think you were in a relationship with him." She sighed and held my hand tightly.
"Actually, he broke up with me. He said it was just a dare from his friends." I but my lip at the thought of it, tears collecting in the corners of my eyes. "And he's done other horrible stuff to me and a bunch of others." I bit on my tongue to stop myself from sobbing.
Even though it looks like I'm angry, I'm not really. In fact, I'm torn. It's horrible how he treated me and everybody else that he's hurt. I only stayed silent because I thought he could change, and because he kept me silent. I stopped in the middle of the hallway and held on tightly to Harper's hand.
"He forced me to keep silent. He told me that if I said anything, he would kill me. I know what he's capable of because I've seen it first hand." I looked up into her eyes with blurry vision, my smirk dropping a long time ago. "Tate, do you need to talk to a councelor?" She asked, her soft voice comforting me.
I nodded, pulling myself closer to her warmth. I rested my head on her shoulder as she wrapped her arms around me, me doing the same. "And a police officer." I whispered to her.
She nodded against my head and pulled away, keeping a tight hold on my hand. "Come on, let's go." She smiled comfortingly at me. I nodded silently and we walked to the main office, tears still running down my cheeks.
As we walked, I caught sight of the monster. His eyes were widened as he stared at the picture taped to his locker, 'RAPIST' spray painted in big red letters on his locker. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath, a smile on my lips. I'm glad he's got what he deserved, and worse.
We entered the office just as I opened my eyes. There were parents all in the office, talking to all of the staff in the room, trying to take their child home for the day or until the monster was removed from the school.
There were a couple police officers in the room, all talking to the students that were either waiting for their parents to pick them up or waiting for their parent to stop talking to the staff. There were two police officers talking to the principal, Mr. Ella.
Basically, it was hectic.
I could hear Harper sigh as she looked around the chaotic main office, people rushing around as one of the front office ladies called the monster down to talk to a police officer. "We need a councelor and a police officer." Harper walked up to the desk, cutting in front of a father demanding for his daughter to take her home.
"I'm sorry Miss. Gloria but we don't have any concelors free." Mrs. Kelly, the office lady stressed, looking up at us with dark brown eyes. "Please, he has some more info on Angel." She said and the room quieted, everyone turning to look at us. I looked down and let go of Harper's hand, figeting with my fingers.
"Please come back to my room." Mrs. Smith said as she waved her hand for us to follow her. The two police officers that were talking to the principal and the vice principal followed after us as we all walked to Mrs. Smith's room, or the conference room, whichever was bigger.

I played with Harper's fingers as the police officers, the vice principal, and Mrs. Smith sat down at the long table across from me. "So, what's your name and relation to the suspect?" A police officer asked as he pulled out a notepad.
"My name is Tate Jefferson and I'm the monster's ex boyfriend." I said and made eye contact with the police officer. He nodded and wrote it down on his notepad. "I'm guessing that the monster is Angel?" The other officer asked me and I nodded, everybody quiet.
"Well, hi Tate. I'm Officer Breckman and this is Officer Thompson. We're here to help you so don't leave any detail out." He smiled reassuringly at me. I nodded and took in a deep breath.
"I did it." I said vaguely, making Officer Breckman tilt his head at me. "You did what?" He asked me, making me look down. "I spread the pictures." I said, making the three I knew gasp.
"B-But Tate, why? You have a clean record." Mr. Bassham asked me. "I'll tell you, but you have to listen carefully." I said and looked up before looking at the clock. 7:34 a.m.
Good, this is going to take awhile.
