Then Matthew came out of the shadows screaming at the leader "Give HER back Jonathan!!" Taking him by surprise, the leader, Jonathan, turned his eyes widely opened.
Matthew tackled him on his side careful not to harm the baby. The other hooded figures were distracted by that and didn't realize when rose escaped their grasp and headed for Eira. Jonathan, struggling with Matthew, Tried to keep hold of her. All the other hooded figures were crowded around them helping Jonathan.
After a while of struggling Jonathan took out his dagger and pressed it against Jonathan's neck. With that threatening gesture. Everyone stopped where they were at and didn't move at all.
Everyone around him was thinking the same thing. How could someone who had at first wanted to eliminate the child, change their mind oh so quickly? Jonathan himself wanted to know but, at the same time the child was taking up most of his mind. Eira was all he could think about. The same goes for her parents and anyone else who has glanced at her flawless infant face.
That was when one of the hooded figures felt a wave of courage and reached for her delicate face. His fingertips lightly touched her cheek and in response she turned her face flashing her wondrous eyes to the rest of the pondering figures.
As soon as their eyes met hers, havoc broke loose. The hypnotisism she put them, caused a crazed frenzy. They wanted to hold her, craddle her, care for her. In other words they wanted her to be theirs for the taking.
As they fought for her, Eira started to bawl. Her cries startled everyone in the room and they froze right where they were.
