One-Sided

"Lailah! Do you feel something different?" Elijah hurriedly inquired Lailah.

Lailah is a bit startled. Lailah knows Elijah is not a very rowdy being. Lailah can only hope it is not something bad, but she doubts this.

There were times Elijah had approached Lailah this way, and they were all emergency agenda. One of them was about a lover's conflict which rooted from a misunderstanding. The conflict nearly ended up in crime due to desperation.

There was another conflict about a local alliance in remote tribes. Elijah also startled Lailah about this one by abruptly appearing himself behind Lailah with a loud voice.

"E-Elijah, how many times do I have to tell you not to startle me like this," says the confounded Lailah. She made a sigh afterwards.

"Quickly now, Lailah. Come closer."

Of course, Lailah is happy to give Elijah an embrace, even just for the sake of looking at what Elijah was referring to.

Such is how the Celestial Twins share their thoughts to one another. They have a stronger connection when they are closer to each other. What Elijah does not realize is why it is so easy to connect with Lailah. It was only easy because of Lailah's overflowing love for her brother. It is a love that is romantic and at the same time odd.

As Lailah came closer to Elijah's arms, her body felt warmth. She felt like she is the safest person. She also wrapped her arms around Elijah's neck and she can only let out a soft giggle. Uncontrollably, she sniffed on Elijah's scent, and Elijah noticed what she was doing.

"Lailah... Please focus," he reminded her while smiling at the playful Lailah.

Elijah only saw it as her being playful. Lailah held her emotions back again while awkwardly laughing due to her unusual actions.

"Y-Yes, Elijah. Forgive me. Let us start. Ah ha ha..."

Thus, the minds of Lailah and Elijah became one, and Lailah saw what Elijah was referring to. Lailah can see a man giving up his own life due to a woman he loves. This woman is not even noticing him, or worse, ignoring him. Lailah felt sad at the sight, and she quickly was able to relate herself with the poor man.

"Lailah, dear. They need us. We need to guide them," the determined Elijah spoke, marking another mission for them.

They went down to the land of Esperia and remained themselves concealed. They can only whisper in their ear to push their guidance to the person's mind. The man, with the unknown help of the Celestial Twins, finally realized love is not always so physical. If he loves the woman, and that he respects the woman's decision, then he must learn how to let go.

Elijah was surprised at how Lailah handled most of the work.

"Lailah, I am impressed you know a lot about romantic love. Are girls such as yourself really interested in this field of knowledge?" the curious Elijah asked.

As Elijah asked this question to Lailah, Lailah was smiling for the man they helped. Invisible to the mass of common people, they both stood there as the man was talking to the woman he loves.

"Perhaps," Lailah answered with a pause, "It feels great to love someone especially when you know how to cultivate the emotion.

"You speak as if you have experienced this."

"Just you wait, Elijah. One day..."

Elijah was confused at what Lailah just said. Is she speaking figuratively, Elijah thought. He smiled at the scene Lailah was watching as well. He is also happy for them.

"I'm sorry for being annoying to you," the man told the love of his life.

"I apologize as well for trying to avoid you. Maybe that was very rude of me."

"Whatever your decision may be, I will respect it. One last time, I ask: Do you love me?"

"I... I'm sorry. I just don't feel the same."

"I see. Do not worry, I will bother you no more."

"That doesn't mean we won't be friends, right?"

"Deborah..."

Then after that, they gave each other a short embrace. Due to the sight, Lailah gave Elijah another embrace. Elijah can only hug her back.

"We are done. Let us go back, dear."
