“Kun?” Yangyang asked uncertainly after hearing the man answer the phone, wanting to make certain it was him.

“Yanyang? You sound upset, did something happen?”

At hearing Kun’s immediate concern for him, Yangyang’s emotions bubbled back up to the surface and he cried into the phone, cradling the device close to his face.

“Kun can you come and get me please.” He wept, only desiring the older man to hold him in his arms.

“Of course Yangyang, where are you?” Kun asked, urgency in his voice.

“I’m down an alleyway.” Yangyang sniffed, looking up at the tall buildings that loomed above him.

“I need you to tell me exactly where you are, okay Yangyang. Is there a street sign nearby, or a name of a shop - a landmark?”

“Uh, I think so.” Yangyang replied.

He slowly got to his feet and walked up the alleyway the way he had come. He glanced around the street, there was still no one around. He turned and noticed the red sign on one of the buildings adjacent to the alleway.

“There’s a ‘Shao Yin’s Massage Parlour’, that’s next to the alleyway.” He said, clutching his phone tightly.

“That’s great Yangyang… Shao Yin’s Massage Parlour… okay I’ve got it. Hold tight Yangyang, I’m coming to you as fast as I can. Don’t move.” Kun said.

“O-okay,” Yangyang hiccuped, his voice catching in his throat.

He turned and wandered back down the alleyway and sat down with his knees huddled to his chest and his back against the building exterior.

“Please come soon, I need you.” He whispered into the phone as tears yet again welled up in his eyes.

“I’m coming Yangyang, hold on. I’m not hanging up either okay?” Kun said.

“Okay.”

The minutes slowly ticked by, and though Kun tried to ask him what had happened, Yangyang couldn’t give him a straight answer. He wasn’t really sure himself, he only knew that he needed someone.

“I’m pulling up now and I’m coming to get you.” Kun said as Yangyang heard the hum of an expensive sports car.

A flash of white passed the entrance of the alleyway, and Yangyang stared, hopeful to see his saviour appear. Soon enough Kun ran into the alleyway, his eyes searching for Yangyang.

Yangyang quickly got to his feet, ending their phone call, and slipped his phone back into his pocket. Kun noticed him and sprinted down the alleyway towards him. He didn’t slow until he had his arms wrapped around Yangyang and cradled his head to his chest.

Yangyang sobbed loudly into Kun’s shirt, wrapping his arms around his back and clutching onto him.

“It’s okay Yangyang, you’re safe now. It’s going to be okay.” Kun soothed, stroking his hair and rubbing circles on his back.

Kun let him cry for a little longer until he gently raised Yangyang’s chin to look at him.

“Yangyang what happened?” Kun asked softly.

“I-I uh,” Yangyang stuttered, once again trying to steady his breathing so he could talk properly.

“Did something happen with you and Ten?” Kun asked.

Yangyang shook his head quickly. “No it wasn’t him. It was Sicheng.”

“Sicheng?” Kun asked with a concerned frown.

“He’s one of m-my clients as well. I bumped into him on the train ride home and h-he wanted sex.” He explained, wiping his tear stained face. “I c-couldn’t think of a way out of it so we found a building and S-Sicheng got us to a toilet where we h-had s-sex.” As he said those words they didn’t feel right, and his lip quivered.

“Yangyang did he do something to you?” Kun asked, his tone very serious.

Yangyang shook his head, “It hurt, I t-told him it hurt but he kept going.”

“Did you tell him to stop?” Kun pressed.

Yangyang bit his lip and shook his head again. “I didn't. He kept g-going and it still hurt but eventually it started to feel good. Afterwards, he got money out from an ATM to pay me and then left, b-but then I felt really sad and now I c-can’t s-stop crying.”

Kun pulled him into another hug and Yangyang sank to his knees. Once he began to calm down, Kun knelt down in front of him, placing his hands on his shoulders.

“Yangyang, I’m going to ask you something, and you need to answer me honestly okay?” Kun said.

Yangyang nodded, wiping away his tears again.

Kun looked intently in his eyes. “Did Sicheng rape you?”

Yangyang shook his head quickly. At the mention of rape, Yangyang’s thought’s went straight to the police, his parents and a whole lot of other unessessary situations, when all he wanted was to forget about it. Besides, it wasn’t like he hadn’t agreed to have sex with him.

“It was just rough sex… that’s all.” He said, his voice barely a whisper.

“Are you sure Yangyang?” Kun asked, his gaze not faltering.

Yangyang nodded. “I don’t want to do it again,” He sobbed, “I feel so empty and used.”

“Oh Yangyang,” Kun sighed, sweeping him back up into his arms.

Yangyang closed his eyes and buried his face into Kun’s neck.

“That’s what happens when you let people pay you for sex; they don’t care about you, they just want you for you body.” Kun sighed, rubbing his hand gently up and down Yangyang’s back.

“But you’re not like that, I feel different when I’m with you.” Yangyang sniffed.

‘Well, I guess I’m different.” Kun replied, and Yangyang pulled back to look at him. “I care about you Yangyang.” He said with a soft smile, brushing a loose strand of hair from Yangyang’s face. His eyes were full of warm affection and he chuckled and smiled shyly when Yangyang continued to stare at him.

“I think I’m developing feelings - strong feelings - for you.” Kun confessed.

Yangyang was stunned into silence at Kun’s words. A warm tingling sensation flushed over his skin, starting in his fingertips and sweeping up his arms like a warm breeze. Butterflies fluttered powerfully in his chest and his parted lips curved into a smile.

Kun mirrored his smile and stroked a thumb over his cheek. “Why don’t I take you home?” He suggested.

Yangyang gave a slight nod of his head in answer, but as Kun began to move, he quickly flung his arms around his neck and hugged him tightly.

“I like you too.” Yangyang whispered.

Tears welled in his eyes, but it wasn’t sadness, or loneliness that made him cry; it was overwhelming happiness.
