Jake has been living life as the American dragon for a while. It's been less of a mess lately which he can appreciate. But living as Jake long has taken a turn. After finally getting together, Jake realized rose wasn't the girl for him. She too realized a month into their relationship that it wasn't meant to be. She liked Jake, but maybe she liked him better when there were stakes to cross to have him.

They both broke up mutually and lived on as friends. After a few weeks, a new student arrived. Lynn Cardoso, she had dark mocha skin, and wore a red-violet bandanna, she had dark eyes that could see through anything. At first, Jake and the rest thought she was normal, but she seemed to follow them. It was hard to lose her when Jake transformed and it was getting really suspicious. When Jake brought it up with Lao Shi, they had no results.

"I do not know of any creatures with that description. Are you certain she has followed you enough to almost see you transform?"

Jake nodded.

"Yeah gramps, I just wish we knew what she wanted."
"Maybe you should have asked."

The three all turned to Lynn who had suddenly appeared out of no where. Fu dog dropped to the ground laughing nervously.

"Uh, bow-wow?"

Lynn smiled at that.

"Nice try, I'm sorry if I have been a bit, mysterious, but I hold no mal intentions American dragon."

Jake stood protectively in front of his gramps.

"What do you want then, huh?"

Lynn raised her hands in a surrender position.

"To help, you see, I don't think you realize your position. You are the first of your kind. A half-dragon. It's caught the interest of my masters. They've sent me to you."
Lao shi raised an eyebrow at her.

"Who are your masters?"

Lynn turned her off stare at Lao Shi.

"The masters of djinn. Surely, you can explain it better to your grandson."

Lao Shi gaped at her and then smacked Jakes head.

"Ai-ya! You have been avoiding her?"

Jake rubbed his head. He was about to reply but his gramps brought his head down.

"We apologize for this..misunderstanding. My grandson is still young."

Lynn laughed.

"Oh my! It's alright, if anything, I'm glad he didn't trust me immediately, he has the sense to gather info firsts before going arms swinging."

Jake crossed his arms.

"Can someone explain who or what you are, and who's the masters of djinn?"

Fu dog coughed and opened his book.

"She's like your guardian angel, if anything. She's like the best of the best, to help people of fate complete their tasks. The masters of djinn are sort of the masters of magic and time."

Jake raised an eyebrow.

"Which means?"
"It means that you have a important role in the fate of all magic. A rather big one. So they sent me to help."

Jake was a bit surprised by that.

"But, I'm not really anybody-"
"you've defeated the huntsclan, pointed out a fault in the magic council, and faced the dark dragon. You are somebody Jake. You just haven't accepted it yet. But that's a charm to you."

Jake blushed at the praise but was still confused on one thing.

"So what actually are you? Masters of magic? Fu said your like a angel?"

Lynn shook her head.

"Witch actually, but not an ordinary one. Im sure you've encountered others, but they are mostly normal warlocks and of the sorts. You see, the masters of djinn hand pick helpers like me because of either special magic someone holds, or a potentially a strong witch or warlock."

Lynn held out her hand.

"But Im neither, I'm a bit of a cut above the rest."

Her palm glowed and a orb of magic appeared in her hand. Lao Shi, Jake, and fu dog were in shock. A wizard using magic without a wand.

"But I thought-"
"like I said, I'm different. But that doesn't make me any less that great. I want to be proper friends, after all, I'm sticking by you for a long while."

Jake laughed and shook her hand.

"Then I'm glad your cool, I thought you were some evil magic creature."

Lynn nodded. When they got to school Lynn met Jake's group. Lynn smiled at them and turned to Trixie.

"I really adore your hair, I wish I could do buns but I suck at maintaining long hair."

Trixie laughed and nodded.

"You know what? I'm glad we didn't immediately jump the gun on to you. Your great! At least someone appreciates my looks."

The boys looked the other way as rose giggled.

"Well, if I had known you wanted to he complimented I could've started sooner. You're so confident I thought you didn't really care for them."

Trixie blushed at that but was glad her skin didn't show it that much.

"Well, It's still nice to hear someone compliment you."

Spud coughed and pointed at himself looking at Lynn.

"Well, if you're complimenting everyone where's mine."

Lynn winced and the whole table bursted with laughter. Lynn laughed and patted Spud.

"Im joking! I actually admire your hidden intelligence, other than wanting to be more than a smart nerd, you want people to underestimate you so you can rise above them in surprising ways."

Lynn turned to Rose and Jake.

"It also takes a great maturity to be able to admit when you find yourself with someone who's just not meant to be. And to break it off so smoothly? Incredible."

Jake high fives Rose who nodded back. After getting to know the group better Lynn was already getting along with everyone. That was interrupted as brad came over.

"Rose already casted her lot, but you Lynn? A cool girl like you shouldn't make the same mistake."

Lynn smiled at him and nodded.

"You're right, I shouldn't make the same mistake of just sitting with them."

She stood up and walked over to brad. She kicked him in the groin and he fell to the ground.

"But you shouldn't make the same mistake of trying to sit with me. Now go back to your little privileged club and leave us alone."

She sat back down and continued their conversation from before.
