It was finally the day. Lynn and Marc were both excited to see the Thrall show. Lynn more so wanted to see the witch boy's magic in action. He was extraordinary at precision spells. It was amazing to be able to talk to another mage with out getting judged or being put in a different light. Nigel knew Lynn only as that, herself, not the thorn of the high magical council. Lynn explained this to Marc as they sat down for the show. He smiled sadly at her and held her hand.
"I'm happy you've finally found someone else you can be yourself with. But you should tell him-"
Lynn cut him off.
"I will, after the show, I..I just wanted one more night of this. Maybe, he'll take it well?"
Marc shrugged before he gasped behind Lynn. Lynn turned to see Nigel there offering her a hand.
"I convinced my parents to get you two better seating. After all, your my guests."
Jake clapped Nigel's shoulder in gratitude. Nigel groaned in distain and Lynn could only chuckle. But as they walked to the VIP chair Nigel leaned down to her ear.
"I didn't want Jake to over hear, but there is word the thorn of the magic council is watching the show tonight and I want you safe."
Lynn stiffened but smiled at Nigel. She knew he grew concerned over her but she cut off whatever offer of comfort he was about to spew.
"I need to tell you something important, after the show, promise me you'll keep an open mind?"
Nigel nodded a bit worried but she gave his cheek a peck.
"It's nothing bad, don't worry. You have a show to perform. Good luck out there, I'll be watching."
Lynn left Nigel there who seemed in shock. He touched his cheek before becoming as red as his hair. He transported himself to the back stage and his sister saw him.
"What's got your knickers twisted?"
Nigel tried calming down.
"I just have to make sure this performance is the best one yet. Actually, give me the triple slot. I think I'm ready."
Julia paused before sighing.
"Alright, but I'm doing it with you, you're still new at it. Even if you're prepared, don't want to lose my little butler."
Nigel huffed and was about to banter back at her when the starting music began. The show began with a set of illusion magic that has the crowd in awe. Lynn was surprised they even added a skin altering patters on everyone. It was mesmerizing. Nigel went on and their group whooped loudly for him. He sent them a biting smile and they quieted down. He performed along with his whole family each making an act as if it was real life. Next the beloved main duo came on. Klaus and Jane thrall, the most famous show magicians the magical world had ever known.
"Welcome to the show! Glad to have you all here! Those previous acts were just warms up so keep a hold of your heads while we invite you to a new world of magic!"
They performed, they had their audience shouting in joy by the end of their act. The duo made a show of amping up the next act. Nigel stood nervous but sure for the act. He had Julia to help him, so even if it did go wrong she could easily fix it.
"And meet the new generation of thrall! Nigel and Julia!"
The two were up in the trapeze area. Nigel smirked and simply walked forward off the platform. There were screams but in a puff of smoke he disappeared. It was risky to do so many transporting spells in seconds, so it took the utmost focus. Nigel felt he was having the time of his life. He say Lynn's face in awe watching him and he didn't think twice. He transported in front of her throwing confetti and other sorts of effects while he had two seconds with her. She smiled and laughed eagerly as he winked at hers he made sure to throw a flower to her the last second and transported away. The act was quick and painless as the two siblings stood center stage. Then a large explosion happened. A figure in a dark cloak with vines wrapped around them stood.
"I refuse to have magic be made a spectacle by some loony mages! As the thorn of the high magic council I will destroy you."
Nigel dodged the blast of dark magic and the crowd tried to flee.
"No, I need everyone to stay in their seats!"
Like magic everyone were chained to their seats. Except for a certain trio. Lynn glared down at the cloaked figure hands alight with magic as she put down the thin shield she made in time.
"..you really weren't kidding when you said it was bad..sorry I doubted you."
Lynn smiled sadly.
"Not the time Jake, but I appreciate the concern. I have a copy cat who needs to learn their place."
She said as Nigel fended off the foe with his sister.
"With the Power of two, let us break through!"
They shouted breaking the person's shield.
"What? No low level mage should be able to break that spell!"
Nigel sneered at the figure.
"Well we're not your average mage! We thrall's have been serving tricks that require much more detail than a lower mage could!"
Julia said defending their family name. The figure seemed to hesitate at that but they were more cocky now.
"Never mind that, so what if your magic is a bit more powerful, you'll never defeat me!"
A large burst of fire caused the figure to run and panic as they were on fire.
"Then how about a dragon?"
Jake said forming a fist. In the figures face they panicked they dropped the spell on the crowd who quickly used this time to escape.
