It Begins

It was around dinner when I heard someone knock on the front door. I was standing on the counter looking through the cupboards for a cup. "Where are the cups? I swear they were in this one just yesterday."

I jumped, and turned to the door, when I heard someone knock on it, "who could that be?"

I slid off of the counter and cautiously made my way over to the door. I heard plenty of stories on how people kidnapped ninjas' children while they were off on a mission.

Then again, not many people knew that my parents were ninja. They aren't the strongest. I mean, even Kakashi thought my parents were civilians.

I opened the door and was immediately relieved. My mom stood in front of me, covered in blood and tired. "Mom? Why didn't you just unlock the door?"

She continued to stare at me, but then seemed to register what I said. "I'm sorry, honey. I got in a scuffle, and I seemed to have lost my keys. I would have snuck in, but I didn't want to scare you." She smiled at me and then pushed me to the side a little.

"I'm going to go take a shower. I'll talk to you later, ok?" She continued down the hallway at a slow gait. I noticed she was favoring her right side, and I was immediately worried. What could have happened that made her so spaced out?

I was tempted to follow her, but I didn't because she seemed like she would attack me. I know she wouldn't mean it, but she seemed so gaurded. If I was actually a child, I would have been clueless to her grief.

I decided I should leave her alone for now, and went to my room. I shut the door behind me, and continued on over to my bed. I sat down on my black, fluffy blanket. I hope she feels better by tomorrow because I am getting some answers.

I crawled under my blankets, fluffed my pillow, and fell into a restless sleep. The type of sleep you fall into, but never even notice. The only way you know you even closed your eyes is because of the left over fear your inner monsters made you feel

-----------------------------

I woke up, and automatically felt like the walking dead. I groaned out loud, "who turned the sun on?"

I realized that I couldn't lay in bed all day because of the academy, but I really wished I could. I rolled over, but ended up rolling over too far, and fell out of the bed.

"...ow," I groaned even louder. I sat up with the blankets pooled around my waist. "Mornings are really not my thing," I let out a sigh packed with all of the sorrow I felt for having to get up.

I crawled over to my dresser, and pulled out a random sweatshirt and pair of leggings. As I was pulling my oversized, dark green sweatshirt on over my black leggings, I remembered the condition my mom came home in.

I ran out of my room, and ran straight into the bathroom. I brushed my teeth, and threw my hair up into a mess ponytail as fast as I could. I ran out of the bathroom, and ran straight into my mom.

"Honey? What are you doing running so fast? You might get hurt," she smiled at me. As I just blandly stared at her, she was readjusting my hair for me. "There you go. Now you don't look like you got mawled by a bear."

I snapped out of my stupor to give her an offeneded look. "I did not look like that," I sighed, "I just wanted to check on you beacause you seemed to be sad yesterday." There, straight to the point.

She looked at me with a hint of surprise, and smiled, "I'm good now, sweetie, thank you for checking though. That was very thoughful of you." She tugged on the strands of hair that always fell out of my updo and into my face. "Now you better run along. You're gonna be late. I already packed your lunch for you."

I looked at the clock on the wall, and realized that she was right. When did it get so late? I GOTTA GO! "THANKS! I'LL CYA LATER!" I was already out of the house with my lunch shoved under my arm, a piece of toast (that was on the counter) in my mouth, and one sandle on with the other in my hand.

-------------------------------

It was only when I got to the academy, and sat down, that I realized that my mom was in a fowl mood for a good reason.

I lazily tuned in on one of my classmates' conversations, so I wouldn't be board while waiting for Sensai. "Did you hear about what happened to Kakashi's da-?" I sat up straight, and started looking around the roon for Kakashi. I knew he wasn't here because he would have sat next to me, but maybe he is just late?

I desperately clung to that thought, yet I knew in the back of my mind that it all just begun.

It was three hours into the academy that I realized Kakashi wasn't coming.

A wild chapter has appeared!

This is a chapter to finally get the story going, and was also typed up to appease those of you who really, really wanted more. I hope you guys enjoyed it!

In this chapter Kakashi is 5. He is about to graduate, but just hasn't left the academy yet. Mika is 5, but she doesn't want to leave the academy because she is still a little afraid of what the future holds for her.

Kakashi has tried multiple times to get her to graduate with him because he has noticed her "genius". Mika feels like she shouldn't graduate early because she is actually older than she seems, and not actually that smart at such a young age.

Alrighty, I hope you guys are okay with what I typed up. I know a lot of you would have preferred a cracked up chapter, but we gotta get life-a-rolling.
