Marinette's POV:
"So you actually got to design the album cover for Jagged Stone? That's crazy..." Luka says as we both sit in a bench outside the mall, the lights from the shops the only clarity in the already darkening sky.
"Yeah, but you should've seen him akumatized, that was way crazier..." I respond taking a spoonful of Luka's already melting ice cream, before realizing what I said and amending it quickly, "I mean I saw it on a post Adrien sent me it seemed so insane. Thank God Ladybug helped solved that." He raises his eyebrow at this comment and I sigh knowing how sketchy it all sounded, but before I can further expose myself he offers me his ice cream cone, my own already finished.
"Here you can eat the rest of mine if you like. I don't mind."
I take it without hesitation, thankful for the interruption and eat the remaining bits of the ice cream mindlessly, my thought elsewhere, more specifically on the earlier kiss.
"Luka, I have to ask you something..." I start slowly, but he grins all of a sudden and leans in, my heart pounding faster than ever.
"Umm sorry for interrupting again, but you have something right there..." Our faces are centimeters apart and I watch as he carefully wipes my cheek with his sleeve laughing, my face turning bright red.
"Oh God, I'm such a mess...and my oh god you're so close." I manage, the last part barely audible as his expression changes once again, turning into a concerned expression as he pulls back rapidly.
"I didn't mean to make you uncomfortable or anything honestly. I'm sorry." He replies softly, rubbing the back of his head and not being able to meet my eyes. Luke Couffaine was...nervous?
"No no not at all! Honestly, I don't mind you being close...I mean if you want of course not that I'm pressuring you or anything. Like...like that's exactly what I wanted to talk to you about...the kiss before you know when I beat you...well, you beat me at the arcade...what did you mean by that..."
He looks up quickly and smiles slightly seeming to recover a bit,
"Yes, you should've seen the look on your face when I won, it was priceless. But don't worry, I won't do anything like that again if it bothers you." At this, I raise an eyebrow, Luka's previous shyness giving me a slight confidence boost.
"I never said it bothered me..."
To this, it's his turn to look surprised and his smile widens as he gets closer our shoulders touching as we both face the now emptying parking lot. However, he turns towards me and I find myself lifting my legs so they lie over his, his eyes scanning my legs in a way that makes me blush harder.
"Are you sure Ma-Marinette? You seem like a sour loser. Just look at how red you are right now." He teases with a slight smirk my eyes trained on his own as I utter the smartest reply I can come up with at that moment,
"Yeah, um its quite cold tonight." He laughs at this, rolling his eyes in an exaggerated fashion before he carefully plants his hand on my thigh, my body shivering and not exactly because of the cold.
"Well, that will surely help me get warm," I say laughing as well and can imagine Alya facepalming at how awkward I was being, seeing that I was completely alone with a hot older boy in a basically empty parking lot.
"God, you're so cute. How am I supposed to act all sexy and cool when you look at me like that?" He asks suddenly and our laughter intensifies, my body subconsciously pressing closer against his own.
"Yeah well, maybe it's my turn to be all sexy and cool pfff." I retort and proceed to sit properly on his legs, my own straddling him, which I have to admit is a bit risky even for me.
"Wow, I'm so intimidated right now. What's next? Do I have to start stammering every time you say my name or blushing like a tomato every time you look at me?" He tries, giving me some real Chat flashbacks that I try to stuff in the farthest corner of my mind before rolling my eyes,
"No...just shut up okay!" I huff and then without thinking much more about it lean in and kiss him. Again the kiss is a bit awkward considering that I am quite literally a mess, but he seems to know what to do grabbing my waist and meeting my own hesitant kissing in a way that makes me melt. However, deep inside I felt as if something was wrong. As if there was something missing out of this scene. The blonde hair...the intense green eyes, both the incessant teasing and soft shyness characteristic of the two boys that had plagued my mind all summer. As soon as I conjure their image the kissing becomes much more heated, neither of us stopping despite the fact we were still in a public place.
Ding.
Out of the blue, I feel a notification from my phone and Luka pulls back, both of us breathing heavily.
"Sorry, it's probably Juleka texting me that she's out of the movie or something." He says embarrassedly, but I shake my head quickly showing him my phone and the notification from Alya.
"I'm so so sorry. I should've put my phone on silent or something..." I say quickly feeling ashamed for interrupting the moment, but he looks up from the phone his face looking confused for a second before he recovers with a smile.
"Not at all. Besides, I should be going anyways, but I'll see you at the festival, right?" To this I nod hurriedly, standing up and lending him a hand, my eyes unable to meet his own as I realize why he had that expression earlier.
"Umm, Luka?" I whisper and he turns to me looking as caring as always as he takes one of my hands in his.
"Yeah, what's wrong?" I gulp anxiously, his face sympathetic as I mutter hopelessly,
"Was I that bad of a kisser?"
He laughs loudly at this and shakes his head from side to side before lifting my chin up in a way that reminds me of that night back on the boat, which now felt like centuries ago.
"No, you were perfect." I think he is going to kiss me again at that moment, but he doesn't. Instead, he places a soft kiss on the top of my head before jogging away into the night, my head spinning.
I carefully take out my phone again when I see to messages waiting for me my eyes widening in shock. The first a notification from Instagram saying Adrien had posted a new picture and the second a message from Master Fu that said,
"Remember to pass by to get some miraculouses for the festival next week. Just in case of an emergency."
Oh, God...My hand shakes as I realize with a start exactly what Luka had read.
...I was so screwed.
((Celsin's Note - summer edition:
And I'm back at it again with the cliffhangers lol. Hi guys thanks so much for being so active these past weeks I adore reading all your comments, seriously all, and I'm glad you are enjoying the story despite my delays. However, I've recently seen tons of hate towards Kagami and as I said earlier it's fine if you don't like her and all, but again its a story it isn't real so please keep your negative opinions on Kagami to yourself and don't ruin it for other readers who enjoy her character. I also strongly recommend you watch the new miraculous ep from SDCC...I'm sure it'll change some minds. Anyways, enjoy your summer and on that note see you all soon hehe))
