At the end of the day

After school was over I went outside to my car.

Julia! I heard Jessica yell after me.

            Yes? I say turning around.

We are having a get together tonight at the pack house and were wondering if you would like to come.

            I would love to but I can’t.

            Why not?

I can’t because my family has a rule about not going out on school nights.

            Okay. What about Friday?

I probably can come. I’ll just ask my parents.

I'm sure they will let come, especially since it will be at the pack house.

Why would it be at the pack house?

            I live there.

            You live there? Why?

I live there because my father is the alpha.

            WHAT?!

Yes and my brother will be the next alpha.

Holy macaroni. I did not expect that. I glance at my watch it is 3:00 and school got out at 2:20. Well I should probably go home and do my homework. So I can come pick my brother up from football practice.

            Aright see you tomorrow.

            Bye Jessica.

            Bye Julia.

As I head home my phone starts ringing. I look at and it is an unfamiliar number so I answer it. Hello.

            Hello is this Julia Reed?

Yes it is. And who might you be?

No one of importance. I need to warn you that he’s coming.

            Who’s coming.

            Malachi.

            Who’s that?

The rouge after you. Didn’t you know that?

I don’t know what you are talking about.

Ask your parents. Tell them I called.

How can I tell them you called if I don’t know your name?

            It’s Smith, Jedidiah Smith.

He then hung up on me just as I reached home. Both my parents cars were in the drive way. I pulled into the drive way, parked and got out of the car. When I got in the house I called out to my mom and dad.mom dad we need to talk.

Shoot. I hear my mom say from upstairs. Crap, crap, crap. James what are we gonna tell her.

The truth dear, it’s time we told her anyway. Dad said as they came down the stairs.

            Okay James.

I got a phone call a few minutes ago. From some guy named Jedidiah Smith.
