Jiang wei was taunting wangji and teased him a lot for his stay in cloud recesses but wei crossed his brother's line during one day. He made Cheng to leave for a day to hunt for peasant in the mountain as he want them and if he never got anything then he will go to village and will buy wine and drink in cloud recess.

Jiang Cheng gone to mountain after taking permission of lan xichen. But that day due to a dare he bought wine and given them to other siblings. While coming back from village with emperor's smile he comforted wangji but due to a small trick he after challenging him that the night fight was started by him so it will be unfair to have wei punished alone and also made him drink wine through his trick.

The morning of the drunken disciples are started by wangji who opened the door and took wei with him to the punishing ground. They were punished to be beaten with the punishing whip but wei was pleading lan wangji and lan Qiken that it was not wangji's fault but both were stubborn.

So when they started to swing the punishing whip Jiang wei pushed lan wangji and took his spot as lan wangji was sentenced 300 whips more than his. Everyone was shocked especially wangji but the rule of gusu lan states that if the person in one spot in the punishing ground was sentenced to number of whips even if one took that person's place he will have to endure them.

Everyone was in shock until a certain two came to the place lan yanli and Cheng came to cloud recess together as Cheng was unable to find a peasant in the mountain so he want yanli to help him to convince him not to consume liquor.

But the siblings was shocked to see their baby brother in the punishing ground with blood dripping from his back but to their surprise of the disciples and elders present in the gusu lan clan. Yanli and Cheng shouted to stop while running with both activating the spiritual tool zidian.

A person pushed the punisher to ground but no one expected that person to be yanli who pleaded Qiken not to punish wei while falling on her knees.

Wei lost his conscious and Cheng lifted him from ground and carried him to bed while yanli treated his wounds. Due to the commotion, lan Qiken thought of finding some background information of Jiang wei. He was surprised to realize that wei was only thirteen year old. Lan Qiken understanding his mistakes started to become lenient towards wei even when he misbehaves in his class.

This behaviour surprised lan brothers so they asked lan Qiken what happened. They were shell shocked to understand that wei was just a thirteen year old child.

So wangji started having guilty in his heart due to his behavior towards wei when he teases him. Lan xichen was shocked to find the fact and started analyzing Wei's behavior as a child's acts.

Lan xichen's started seeing him as a young one. This was understood by Cheng because he asked xichen's help to babysit wei as he lost all his trust in him. Xichen gladly accepted it but later that day before Cheng gone to lotus pier xichen was presented with a glaring and pouting Jiang wei. Cheng kissed his forehead before going which left wei in a blushing mess.

Xichen misunderstood wei as he snug out of xichen's room after curfew and surprisingly he was found out by xichen again. But this xichen was furious who grabbed Wei's ear and dragged him back to his room.

Xichen forced wei to bent to his knees and face a corner and ordered wei to think of his mistakes.

After some minutes xichen asked wei to tell him what he learned while glaring furiously also warning him that this will be said to Cheng when he come back. Wei started crying hardly as Cheng warned him that if he misbehave in the care of xichen than he will whip him with zidian.

Xichen calmed wei down and promised that he will not tell this to Cheng. Wei hugged xichen hardly and never let go so after sometime wei was asleep but still didn't let go so wei slept with xichen that day.
