As I finished inflating my air mattress in the master bedroom I heard a noise out in the kitchen. I figured it was just my bag tipping over so I brushed it off. Then I heard a voice come from the living room.
"Where the hell did my couch go now!?"
I slowly walk down the hall and round the corner to find a small blonde woman standing barefoot in the middle of my living room.
Her hair is curled but is a little ratted up. She's wearing a short sleeved blue dress and sunglasses even though it's 9pm and dark outside. I look around the kitchen and notice her silver heels had been kicked off at the door.
"Um ma'am?" I tap her shoulder cautiously causing her to jump as she turns to face me.
"Who are you?" She leans back a little and almost stumbles to the floor but she grabs my shoulder before falling too far back.
"I'm Isabel, this is my apartment. Um do you live in the building?"
"Ya, I thought this was my apartment. What floor am I on?" She slurs her words but only a little.
"You're on the fifth floor. What floor is your apartment on?"
"I'm on the fourth directly below this one. I thought it was mine because it's right out from the elevator. And my window is facing the same way so it's the same view." She starts to walk over to the kitchen counter but she stops when I start to talk.
"Do you have your keys? I could help you find your apartment." She stumbles towards me and stops about 6 inches from my face.
"You are very pretty, Isabel." She smells like tequila and Marc Jacobs perfume. "But no, I don't have my purse. I left it at the bar with my friend, Aidy."
Aidy? I immediately think of Aidy Bryant. Who is this girl?
"Wait what's your name?" I reach over and take her sunglasses off so I can see her whole face.
"I'm Kate. McKinnon." Oh my God. Kate McKinnon. Like SNL star Kate McKinnon is standing in my living room drunk and lost right now.
"Oh my God, I didn't realize. Um. Do you want to stay here for tonight? I mean since you can't find your keys and everything. You can sleep on the air mattress in my room and I can borrow you some clothes?" I'm suddenly extremely nervous as if I hadn't been talking to her this whole time.
"That would be amazing Isabel." She leans forward and hugs me. I hug her back. She pulls away and starts to walk towards my bedroom.
She falls against the wall but regains her balance and reaches for me to come closer to her.
"I'm going to need to you help me take off my dress." She mumbles as she turns around and moves her hair revealing her zipper.
"Oh, ya now problem."
I slowly unzip her dress and hand her the T-shirt and shorts I had brought up from my car to change into. Her dress falls to the floor and she turns around to face me.
"Uh, I'm going to run down to my car real quick so I can get some more clothes." I look away from her since it feels weird to watch her get dressed in front of me.
"Okay, I'm not going anywhere." she giggles and I feel my face get red. She's adorable.
I lock the door on my way out just to make sure I won't have to chase Kate through the hallway to get her back.
When I come back inside I find Kate in my bedroom passed out on the air mattress. I cover her with a blanket and shut the door on my way out of the room.
I sleep on the floor of the living room with a thin blanket still in shock. I guess this is going to be little better than I had expected.
