"Honey a letter came in the mail for you this morning from USV well you were at school." My mom said well putting the salad on the table.

"Did you open it?" I asked sitting in my usual spot.

"No its for you." My mom said sitting across from me.

A slow smile washed over my face. The lingering fear that I maybe didn't get into USV was there but I figured with my persistent grades and service time, I would get it just fine.

"Well let's open it!" my Dad said bringing it from the kitchen.

He passed me the white envelope and I held it in my hands for a minute. I stared at the printing neatly placed in the corner.

To Miss Ciera Jone Hanson Belgier.

I hated how I had two last names. No one ever knows which one is my 'actual' last name. They both are, my mom wanted to keep her maiden name, Hansen, and my Dad wanted to keep Belgier when they got married, so now its Hanson Belgier. Cute right?

"Are you going to open it?" my mom said folding her hands n the table with a smile, I could tell she was just as anxious as I was.

"Yes sorry." I said looking at both my parents staring at me. I slowly ripped open the top of the envelope and pulled out a long, detailed letter.

"Dear Miss Ciera, we are honored to conditionally accept you into our bachelor of science program here at USV," I started, my parents smiled grew even larger.

"Conditionally?" My dad asked.

"I just have to keep my grades up and do more community service time and I'm accepted." I said reading down to the end of the page.

"I'm so proud of you sweetie." My mom said grabbing my hands and squeezing them.

"Let's eat now!" my dad said scooping himself a plate full of food.

We all giggled and had a rather enjoyable dinner.

The next couple of days at school flew rather quick and I was ready for the weekend to start.

As me and Sarah drove home to get ready for Brandon's party I got a phone call from Reece. I quickly pressed answer on the large screen as I wanted to know what's up.

"Hey Ciera," His voice came across the line.

"Hi Reece, what's up?" I asked fixing my hands on the steering wheel.

"I just wanted to know what you were up too this weekend?" He said almost instantly.

"Well me and Sarah are going to a party tonight at Brandon's actually but im free tomorrow?" I said slowing at a red light.

"Oh, okay well Jayson is throwing a party on Saturday and I don't wanna show up alone so you want to be my plus one?" He asked nervously. I could tell he was nervous by the tone of his voice.

"I would love to join you." I said accelerating as the light turned green again.

"Okay sick, I'll pick you up at your house around nine?" his voice came across slightly scratched.

"Sounds good Reece." I said waiting for his response.

"okay see you." He said ending the conversation.
"Bye." I said using the steering wheel controls to hang up.

"Who is that?" Sarah's voice came softly. It kind of scared me, forgetting she was in the car all together.

"That was, my friend Reece. He goes to the same school as Riley." I said pulling sharply into my drive way.
