I quickly drove to the Shake shack at quarter to 7. My mind was twirling with reason I could come up with to tell Brandon how Karina's whole story was fake.

As I rolled into the parking lot I looked for Brandon's fancy sports car but I didn't see it.

I parked near the door and fixed my makeup in the rear view. Then his car pulled up beside me. he wasn't showing any emotions in particular.

I quickly jumped out of the jeep and ran over to the passenger side to greet him.

"Brandon!" I called out as he climbed out of his car.

I was nervosa for his reaction.

"Hey Ciera! I hope your ready to teach me something." He said with a small giggle.

Did Karina not say anything? Well not yet at least?

We walked into the restaurant and claimed a spot far from everyone else.

After a bit of studying Brandon began getting frustrated.

"Ugh I don't get any of this crap!" he said pushing some of the papers out of his way and resting his elbows on the table. He rubbed his eyes harshly with the palm of his hands and ran a hand through his hair.

"I'm sorry Brandon I don't know how else to explain it." I said softly. I ddint want to upset him.

He sat back with a frown and stared at the table. A blank expression proved there was so much more on his mind then his math work.

"How's your mom B?" I said offering a hand.

He looked at me with sad eyes.

"She's really bad, they are deciding if they want to continue with chemo or not. They are pretty sure it's not working anymore." Brandon said his eye brows beginning to furrow.

I shook my head in sympathy for him. I had no idea what to say.

"Do you want to maybe come watch a movie at my place once we are done here? You know get your mind off things." I said pulling all of his papers into a pile.

"I would love that." Brandon said with a sigh.

"If there's anything at all I can do, please tell me Brandon okay? Anything ever." I reassured.

"Should I tell the team?" He said looking blankly at the table.

"Tell them about your mom?" I questioned in a genuine tone.

"Yeah. I mean I don't want to sound like a dick, but none of them really make me feel one hundred safe. Like I never tell any of them about stuff inside here." Brandon said tapping on his heart.

"I'm so sorry Brandon. I never really had anyone like that either." I said sitting back as well.

We rolled his head and looked out the window.

He stared for a minute and made a weird face which made me look as well.

The first person I saw was Karina, followed by another girl wear a matching camo jump suit and a bright green Beanie.
"Oh shit." I said with wide eyes.

"What do you know her?" Brandon said looking back at me.

"No but we have to go." I said quickly packing stuff away and counting out our bill.

"First off, let me pay and second why in a hurry?" Brandon said quickly getting out his wallet.

"Brandon there's something I have to tell you about her." I said reaching for his wrist.
