Chapter 9

“How did I get dragged into this?!” Josh half yelled at me.

“well, it was your idea to do nothing but covers, and you can play guitar like no one I’ve ever seen… sorry Matt” I said turning to give matt a small smile who just laughed and said it was no big deal.

“fine, but we have to get started like now.” Josh said finally giving. I stated smiling at jumped up to hug the tall man.

“thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!” I yelled. “If I hadn’t just met you, I would kiss you.” Everyone started laughing.

*Six Hours Later*

“I’ve never seen anyone pick up one of her songs so fast.” Lily said.

“Josh is a guitar god, we all know it.” Ian said with a laugh.

“It’s what happens when your whole family is in music, and it’s the only thing you’ve ever known. “ Josh added with a laugh.

“I don’t care, he’s already learned two of my songs, and I learned the lyrics to one of his songs, and then we both know enough covers.” I said.

“We’ll lets hear something then!” Lily said. She walked over to Matt and set next to him.

“yea let’s hear something!” Mike said speaking up for the first time that night.

“Fine!” I yelled at both of them, I took a small breath and looked up at Josh who just gave me a small nod.

I started playing and soon I started singing.

“Board up your windows but I’m telling you, That it’s not gonna do a thing.

It always finds you, but it all depends, On how you battle with the pressure

You take a left and it’s standing in the way, You try to shake it off, but it seems to wanna stay

You poker face could make them melt, Just sit back and deal with the hand you’re dealt.”

Josh joined in playing and started singing along providing the back-up vocals.

“Face Facts, it wont be easy this time. Sticks like a tack in the back of my mind.

Hurts so deep when I think too much, And breathing gets harder.

Take a look at me, From one side I seem to be

So calm, so cool, collected, And of the other side, I’m melting down.”

“That’s all you get, and I suggest you come to the show next week.” Josh said with a smile. I started laughing.

“So, same time tomorrow?” I asked. Josh shook his head no.

“We can work on this some more tomorrow, I say we go out and celebrate!” Josh said.

*An hour later*

“So why are we at a bar? I don’t even drink.” I said looking around the room watching Mike, Ian, Matt and Lily at the bar taking shots.

“Well, its what they wanted to do, and four out dose two.” Josh said.

“Well that’s stupid.” I said as I took a drink of my water.

“I’M AN OCTAGON BABY!”  We heard Ian scream across the room.

“Oh good, That’s fucking coming up! Good! That would be our queue to leave” Josh said getting up and grabbing my hand pulling me out of the place.

“Okay, is it safe to leave them alone?” I asked as we got into my car.

“Matts not drinking much, he can call them a cab and show up at our hotel later.” Josh said.

“So, back to my place?” I asked Josh getting into the drivers set of my car,

“Movie night sounds good.” Josh said.

By the time we got back to my apartment it was late and we just set on my sofa watching the first Halloween movie. In the middle of the movie my phone started ringing. I looked at the caller ID. “Lily The Best!” it read, I just let my phone go, I wasn’t about to listen to her drunk talk. Don’t get me wrong, I love her to death, but she’s annoying as hell when she’s drunk.

“They are all at the hotel, Lily wants to know why you’re not picking up.” Josh said reading a text on his phone.

“Because I don’t like drunk Lily.” I said leaning over so my head was lying on Josh’s shoulder. He wrapped his arm around me, and threw the blanket over us. 

“And I hate “Octagon” Ian.” Josh said with a chuckle.

“Your welcome to stay here and watch horror movies with me all night” I said smiling.

“Would I have to be your personal pillow, like I am now?” Josh asked.

I just smirked. “What do you think?” I said. Josh just chuckled and started our movie over.
