Greatest Love Story (Solby)

"Catch me if you can Sam!" Colby ran ahead of the blonde boy as they made their way home from school.

"No fair, you started ahead of me!" Sam started running too, trying to catch up to his slightly younger boyfriend. He watched as Colby went around the corner of the building, following the sidewalk to Sam's. Sam ran around the corner next.

"Ahh!" Sam squeaked as someone crashed into him, both of them toppling to the ground. He wasn't surprised to hear Colby start to laugh, making him smile.

"Get off of me, you dick." The pair of smiling boys helped each other off the ground and continued their way to Sam's house. It was June of their senior year of high school, and the boys were in the works of getting an apartment together in Los Angeles and moving there when school ended. Tonight Colby had plans with his brother, so he was just walking Sam home then continuing to his own home.

When they arrived at Sam's, Colby kissed him and started walking backwards down the driveway.

"Have fun studying, loser!" Colby yelled playfully with a charming smile. Sam rolled his eyes but couldn't help the lovesick smile that rose to his face as he turned to enter his house.

That night, Sam was in his room. He looked to the clock and saw that it was 11:45pm, meaning that he was the only one still awake. He closed his textbook, and as if on cue, there was a tap at his window. He looked over to see Colby sitting on the branch beside his window, with a goofy smile. Sam wasn't even surprised at this point as he walked over to let his boyfriend in.

"Ready to go?" Colby asked quietly, scooting over to lean through the window frame.

"I'm ready." Sam shut off his light and headed for the window, following Colby down the tree. They grabbed hands and ran to Colby's car, hopping in and heading out for a drive. They drove and talked for a while until they came to the rivers edge a town over. They got out of the car and grabbed hands again, walking to a small clearing where it was dry and well lit by the moon. Colby laid down a blanket and the two of them sat next to each other, laying down. Sam laid on Colby's shoulder and placed his hand on the brunette's chest. They laid there for a while, just talking under the moonlight about anything and everything. Colby looked down to Sam's eyes, which were lit up by the moon. He couldn't help but to smile at his boyfriend. He wordlessly changed positions so he was in a push-up position over Sam.

And there, things escalated, each determined to show the other how much they loved them.

"Can you believe we're finally doing this?" Sam asked his brunette boyfriend as Colby put the last of their things in his car.

"I still can't but I'm so ready." Colby said with a smile, closing the trunk and walking over to Sam. They had said goodbye to their parents just ten minutes earlier, and now they were headed for Los Angeles, California. They had found an apartment in their price range, which wasn't much, but that's where they would start off their lives together. Since they had graduated a week ago, they had been spending their time either together or packing for the move. They got in Colby's car and waved to their family once more before starting their long drive to the west coast. The trip was full of stories, laughs, singing, and alternating drivers so the other could sleep. After twenty four plus hours in the car, they made it to Los Angeles. Twenty minutes later, they were walking into their apartment.

Empty and dreary and sad as hell, but it was their apartment.

"Colby, I can't keep doing this!" Sam slammed his fist on the kitchen table."

"I don't know what you want me to do about it! I can't help the fact that you're not happy with where our social media is right now!" Colby shouted back.
