My Star

Chapter 2

Astra was stunned. She stared at that man for a few seconds. He looked back at her making eye contact. Then, John opened his mouth to speak. "Girls, These are gonna be the men that will be with us for a while." He said. "But, we have two rules everyone must follow." John started explaining the two rules:

Rule 1: Don't talk to them        

Rule 2:  They must stay inside this property        

The dark skinned men all looked more nervous than when they got out of the wagon. Astra felt bad for them but she didn't want to show it right next to her family. "Do they have names?" Kindra asked. "Oh! I forgot to say that," John exclaimed. He turned to the men and pointed to the man on the very left.

He was taller than the others and looked more stronger. He wore just a peach colored shirt and deep blue trousers. His hair was about shoulder length tied up into a small ponytail. "This is Obi." John said. Obi didn't look at John. His eyes were looking around the whole place. But at this moment, Astra caught him looking at Kindra. He quickly moved his eyes somewhere else.

John walked over to the next man. Astra was excited to know who this man was. She knew there was a reason her dream showed his face. "This is Amadi." John said. Amadi looked up at the family and gave them a friendly smile.

Amadi...

Astra's eyes widened a little. Her cheaks became warm a little. Kindra turned and noticed whats happening with Astra. She bumped her arm at Astra getting her to stop. "Looks like someone has a crush." Kindra whispered to her. Astra turned her head with anger pained on her face then turned back at the men.

John finally walked to the last man. "This is Jatau." Jatau looked a little older than the rest of the men. He had a deep blue shirt on with a long, green coat on. He wore blue pants with boots painted with mud. Jatau said nothing. 

"Now that we all met these gentlemen, I'll be giving them a tour around the place. Girls, you are excused." John said. Kindra and Astra went back inside the house closing the door behind them. 

"Kindra, did you seriously tease me out there!?" Astra yelled. "Yeah.." Kindra replied. "You were red when Dad introduced Amadi and I'm your sister, so I can tease you whenever I want." Astra got very mad. "It was embarrassing." She exclaimed. "By the way, Obi was looking at you." Kindra turned toward her sister in complete shock. "W..What!?" She yelled. Astra smirked. "Looks like someone has a crush." She said then walked to her room. 

"That wasn't good." Kindra yelled. "I know." Astra said.  

Astra closed her bedroom door and looked around the room. She was still shook about how she saw Amadi in her dream. She walked toward the journal Kindra placed on her bed before they left to see the men. Astra picked it up and opened to the last written page. She read it over and over again until she truly believed Amadi was the man in her dream. When Astra did, she closed the journal and left it hidden under her sheets and walked to her desk. Her sketchbook was there. She opened it showing drawings of the night sky's durning the past 3 years. "Hope to get a different sky tonight." Astra told herself

Astra looked up out her window and looked down at the corn field. She noticed Amadi, Obi, and Jatau talking.  Amadi looked up back at her. His cheeks turned a little pink. So did Astra's. 

She then grabbed the curtains and closed them. Astra stayed in her room for the rest of the day drawing and writing.
