Author's Note: *drumroll* I present to you the first chapter of Polaroid Avenue!
It's been a while for me to update this story. My classes started plus I have a bad case of writer's block so I apologize for the delay. Anyways, I hope you enjoy Chapter 1 :)
Anya 's P.O.V.
"Trust me Anya, it really is. Just get here quick." Kate said as I turn on the engine of my car.
A part of me felt like I should really check out this 'interesting news' of hers out. It seemed like she had the best stories. Maybe she's this magnet for gossip and shocking things.
I head to her place as quickly as I could while being the good and responsible driver that I am.
On the way there, I think of the possible things she could be talking about.
Did a couple breakup? Some girl got knocked up? Wow, my mind really goes that far.
Just one knock and the door instatly opens with a grinning Kate.
"So what's the exciting news?" I ask as we head to her room.
"Amy let me borrow her laptop and I checked out the website she was looking at."
"Umm, there is this called privacy you know"
"She gave me permission, relax."
I took a good look at this website that got all her excited. Not much really, just looks ordinary to me.
"I can see the appeal but what's so scandalous about it?"
"I wouldn't use the word scandalous-"
"But you make it sound like it is" I cross my arms to prove a point.
"You do have a point. I can't find one word to describe my reaction. It was more of a mix of shock and disbelief."
"Nothing here seems recognizable to me"
"Just take a really good look on these set of pics. I'll be back with some snacks"
These polaroids look like the ones I see on Tumblr. Whoever this person is, maybe he or she just grabbed the pics from other sites.
That thought was ready to sink in until I found what Kate was talking about. At least I think its the picture she's talking about.
There was a perfectly arranged set of objects - a notebook, a pen, a few rings, a necklace, and a pair of shades. It may seem like a random picture to you but there was one thing about it I recognized.
One of the rings had a silver band that had twists, holding the tiny emerald stone in place.
"Find it yet?" Kate asks with a bowl of chips.
"I found the ring, the one Tessa has."
"A downfall of having a customized ring, we know who this blogger is" Kate smirks. She's really enjoying this mini victory.
"I knew you had a good eye!" Kate exclaims. "So much for keeping her identity a secret, anything else good you found?"
"Well, there is this." She scrolls down to a post entitled Enchanted Night. There was only one picture shown. An invitation sealed with blood red wax.
"Isn't that the Wesley crest?" I ask Kate. For a so called detective, she looked surprised about my discovery.
"Well, it looks like she's got a lot of explaining to do."

Two Months Later
"That's strange. She's usually the first one here." Nicole asks.
