Chapter 3

As the boys exited the room and closed the door, they looked down the hall to the right towards Thaire's office. By the door were Caite and Thaire talking about something. Caite's hair was hiding her face but with the way her hand went through the bottom part of her hair they could tell that conversation was serious. They waited by their door. Thaire looked towards them and nudged her sister.
The smaller looks up. "Boys!" Thaire yells towards them. She walked over to them. Abunter noticed her hair was in a ponytail and her stress filled eyes.
"Is the ponytail thing like your business look?" he questioned. She shrugged.
"Pretty much." Caite walks up to Orbus and brushes a little dust off his shoulder. "Are you ready to meet the rest?" she asks. Both looked confused. "Rest?"
Thaire smirked as Chaira walked out of Thaire's office and walked towards them.
"Rest of the academy of course." Thaire said with a smile
"For now until you make friends you can sit with us. Most have more time to socialize but since you slept most of the day you didn't get to do that." She giggled. Orbus sniffed. "We don't need you to protect us, we are not little children."
Abunter put his hand in front of his brother and laughed nervously .
"What my idiotic brother was trying to say wa-"
Caite cut him off. "We got what he was trying to say, sorry for trying to actually be nice, give ya a rare chance, very few people sit with us, only close friends." She snarled.
"Cat retract your claws, we will respect their decision. We can't have them trust us right away we should know that better than anyone." Thaire said lightly.
Cat only narrowed her eyes at Orbus's comment.
"If you change your mind just join us at our table. Just don't sit beside the little girl. Her name is Asura." Chaira offered politely
Thaire nodded but she rolled her eyes as the sound of her siblings stared bickering.
Only Caite could get a raise out of Chaira so quickly. She turned to her siblings who were just throwing little names at each other:
"Sugar cookie"
"Hot breath"
"Glitter blood"
"Flame brain"
"Goody -
Thaire grabbed the back of their shirts. "Quit it before I smack both of you." She pulled them along down the stairs
"Let's go boys, you still need to find the place, people get lost." the boys looked at each other then ran to catch up.
They went back down to the first floor and turned right to the training room. But past that was a door at the end of the hall. The sounds of talking and laughter could be heard. The girls got themselves slightly under control. The boy from before stood in front of the door, smiling at them. Caite ran to him and kissed him. "Hello love. "she said to him smiling.
The boy looked to the two newcomers.
"Those the newbies T?" she nodded.
"Denten Lawton, demon. Fiancé to Caite." He said to them. He seemed not to be too interested into them, only looking at the three girl.
"Abunter, demon."
"Orbus- demon."
"Let's go shall we?" Thaire said. She walked threw and walked into the cafeteria. There were rows upon rows of long tables, filled with people. From little kids to adults. And at the far wall was a long wooden table with throne like chairs with animal head carvings on them. From left to right was a Jaguar, crow, raven, fox, deer, owl, and a cat. The girls and Denton went to the table. Thaire- fox, Caite- jaguar,Chaira - raven, Denton -crow. The other two just stood in the doorway.
"Orbus?"
"Yeah?"
"I am going to kill you for making us do this. We could have sat up there! Now we have to talk to people. " Abunter huffed.
Orbus gulped. Thaire looked at the two and sighed and smiled softly. A little girl around ten, with long brown hair with purple highlights and piercing green eyes walked up to them. "Come on, you can sit with my family." She said sweetly almost bashfully, and pointed to the grand table. She grabbed Alex's hand and tugged lightly. "Come on. Aunt Chai likes you two, especially you, she finds you awkward. "she says to Orbus who blushes.
Abunter bows down to her level. "Are you Asura?" he asks. She nods. She than looks at him and giggles.
"Many people get frazzled by my Aunts but not many defend my Aunt T out of respect." She turned to the table and pulled them up to the table.
"Here you go Aunt T! Just like you asked." She said with the brightest smile. Thaire returned it and motioned Asura to her seat (owl) the boys stood awkwardly in front. "Maria! Please bring me two chairs for our new friends." Chaira says to a girl who walked by. The girl bowed and scampered off to some place. Thaire snapped her fingers three times and food appeared on the table. Soon the girl showed back up with two big chairs. She set them at each end. Orbus sat next to Denton and Abunter next to the empty two seat. Which didn't stay empty as Eana hopped in and sat down (deer). "I didn't see you talk to Asura , how did she know stuff she wasn't there for? " Abunter asked.
"Telepathy." Thaire said.
"I am a hellion, like my mommy" Asura said smiling to the boy. He smiled back.
"Is that who seats beside you?" he asked.
She nodded. Everyone shot him warning glances.
"I like cats. Always wanted one, never had the time though." He said nicely.
Asura smiled brightly, causing everyone to smile as well.
"May I ask..."
"No." She says lightly almost as if the question was nothing. " You're to weak to understand Orbus. Darkness is with my mommy and I don't like that story. But soon though you won't be able to tell people your own stories cause of the darkness but those stories will be worth it."
Asura looked to Thaire, "That is what you said, right?"
"Yes, baby. I did." She smiled lightly.
Orbus stiffened and glared at her.
"That is what you are teaching this child? That she will see darkness and should be proud?"
Thaire stiffened. "I think I will start that meeting. I was hoping to be able to eat but apparently not. Caite, please send this to my office afterwards. Orbus and Denten please follow me."
She pushed her seat back and it made a loud screech noise causing silence. She walked off the platform and right through the doors. Everyone glared at the two new boys. Even Asura.
The boys ran quickly out of the room. As they caught up with Thaire, they realized that Asura said they were going to get stories they wouldn't want to tell as well.
