FLASHBACK *IN THE UNDERWORLD*
A girl stood in front of her window staring out into the dark forest that surrounded her home. Shadows moved within them and she saw a few people scurry amongst the branches. A knock at the door awoke her from her thoughts.
"Come in."
Her door open to reveal a mousy little girl who couldn't be older than herself, three small horns pecked out from her purple hair that covered her face as she curtsied.
" M-my princess, please f-forgive the interruption but your f-father wishes a meeting-g."
She said, bowing her head in fear of eye contact. She never knew how the other maids did it from all the things she heard from the queen - the royal in front of her was such a horrid thing. The girl in front of her was a hybrid, The Hybrid to be exact, the only half angel-half demon alive. She held a bloody reputation for killing those who opposed her father's command. With a snap of her finger she could make the girl in front of her see worst fears come to life- at least that is what her mistress said. The princess just sighed instead of killing her like the queen said she would, and grumbled:
"Will my sisters be there, Annya?"
Annya looked up and nodded, "Yes mistress".
The princess nodded and turned when there was another knock on the door.
A woman walked in and peered down at the other maid in a sense of distrust.
"Annya please leave, you did your job, thank you."  The princess looked to the mousy girl with boredom.
Annya squeaked as she say silver eyes turn her way but politely bowed to the princess and walked off shakily. She hesitated at the door till the older woman slammed the door. Annya ran off back to her mistress.  The maid who walked in sighed and pulled her red hair in a ponytail. The girl smiled as she felt the maternal aura around her. The Hybrid turned around and sighed as she looked in a body length mirror by her window and moved her blue hair out of her face, her face looked deeply troubled as her grey eyes darkened.  She searched her own face.  Her black  horns went back  and divide into three parts. Her eyes looked worried but all she saw was light brown skin with three black lines on her nose and a scar along the base of her neck that her black dress couldn't hide.  Her gaze shifted to the woman behind her that stood drastically from the stormy grey of her room.
"Hello Putana."
The princess walked to her to hug her in greeting. She looked into the deep green eyes and saw her troubled reflection and sighed before fixing herself and turned back the mirror. Again she saw her black dress and gold heels. Her mother's mantra carved into the metal of the mirror, 'beauty is deadly'. She took a deep breath and fixed her tiara as Pūtanā tightened her corset.
"Are you ready?" Putana asked.
"Of course" The princess laughed nervously, "aren't I always."
Putana stared at her in disbelief.
"Thaire  you cannot miss a single step, it could ruin everything. Childish confidence or a few nerves could could mess this up. Not a single step or a hair out of line. This isn't just about you."
The princess let her head lower but then made her self stand tall and looked her elder in the eye.
"Was it ever? Do you really think I need reminding?"  Thaire sighed as she walked to the window again and looked to the dagger lying on the window sill, a present her mother gave her when she was younger, she told her it would save her in dire times. Its silver handle glowed in the moonlight that was always present in her home world. She thought back to simpler times before her eyes landed on a few missing diamond on the quillion made her blood boil. Hard times are what her mother warned her of, before she ran. It appears those times have come. She took the dagger and slid it into the holder under her dress
"You couldn't hear their screams like I could. My people do not deserve this as a life; my fathers wrench has abused her power, us, her servers and her own people. She will pay. Her blood shall be payment for those she spilt. And when I am done I will come back for you and Asura, I promise."
She walked to the door.
"This will all be over soon,'' she sighed, gave a sad smile, "I will do what is needed of me."
Putana smiled delicately, wishing her friend's words could hold. She walked into the hall, closing the door behind her. She heard footsteps and clacking of metal storming towards her. She turned toward the noise. It being the palace guards.
"We are charged with murdering any voice of rebellion against the queen. And you, Putana Mirana, have been found guilty by the decree of the royal highness, Queen of the Underworld, to be within contact of the rebel group of Shadows." One guard recited.
"I stand with the true ruler. I stand with Thaire. And so should you. You are only a pawn, my dear. And my queen knows life is a grand game of chess, and we are nowhere near checkmate. The Shadow's shall rise!" She laughed.
The guard swings his sword and the hellion falls, headless.
