-Rho-
It didn't take long for the other Warriors to get to the Chaos cabin. I had put my hands on the desk and leaned forward to have a look at the papers. I was taking a look at the details of Sean de la Roij, when they all came in.
'So how did it go?' Zoe asked me.
I slid a hand through my hear.
'What do you think?' I asked her. She crossed her armed and narrowed her eyes.
'Let me guess, you tried you talk him into staying, he refused, you guys had a huge argument, he left and now you're still here, waiting for him to change his mind?'
I scratched the back of my head.
'Yeah, that pretty much figures it..' I said.
I saw Zoe's eyes change to a look of sympathy. She walked up to me and put a hand on my shoulder.
'At least you tried, Luke.' She smiled sadly. 'Maybe Percy will never get over it. Sometimes it happens to people,' she whispered.
I let out a deep breath.
'But I really thought he would be okay again. Sure, it would take some time to let him get over it, but I believed he would be all right again.'
Zoe looked at me. 'Perhaps he just wasn't meant to heal. I've seen a lot of people sharing the same destiny while I was a Huntress. It destroys them, but there's simply nothing we can do about it.'
I let out a hollow laugh.
'So much for courage, right?'
Zoe didn't say reply, but turned around and walked away, only to stumble upon someone in the hallway.
'Phi,' I heard her say.
'Not now, Zoe,' I heard a whispered voice saying. I saw Phi, looking heartbroken, leave to disappear in his room. I decided to go after him, but Silena stopped me.
'Let me talk to him,' she said. She had already seen his expression and probably knew what was best.-Phi-
I accidentally run into Tau, and she wanted to know. I prevented her from asking by going to my room. I hadn't been sitting on the floor for a minute when Nu knocked on my door.
'Phi? Can I come in?' She asked.
'Yeah,' I answered.
'Hey,' she said when she came in and closed the door. 'What's going on?'
I looked up to her. Her power of Conviction didn't work on me, so she didn't even try to use it on me.
'I spoke to Annabeth,' I whispered.
Nu sat down next to me.
'You okay?' she asked.
I closed my eyes.
'I don't know,' I said, and honestly, I really didn't know. My conversation with Annabeth had messed up my whole point of view. I didn't know what to think anymore.
'What did she say to you?' Nu asked.
'She told me a little bit about what happened five hundred years ago.'
I awaited her reaction, but surprisingly, none came. I opened my eyes to see her look at me sympathetically.
'No one said it would be easy.'
I shook my head. 'No, but I didn't think it would.. remind me so much.'
I looked into Silena's eyes.
'Silena, she still seems to.. care for me. The old me.'
At that, Silena stood up and motioned for me to come with her. I shook my head. Silena smiled a little and walked to the door.
'We'll see, Percy. We'll see.'
I smiled back, but when she had disappeared, I felt the smile slip away from my face. Talking to Annabeth had triggered the memories I didn't want to think about. I closed my eyes, not wanting to relive the moment, but I was trapped in the minute I refused.I had seen Annabeth make out with Sean, but that didn't have to mean something, right? She could have been poisoned, or charmspoken, or anything else. I was looking for a reason. Any reason at all. It was a few days later when I realized the campers were whispering about me. But whenever I turned around, they would look away.
It was a rainy evening when Chiron called me.
'What's happening here Percy? Annabeth told me you attacked Sean the moment you saw them together at the beach.'
I stood there, not being able to answer, because the hurt and betrayal rushed through my now boiling blood. What had she told him? What could even have made her doing it?
'Chiron, that's not true, you know that as much as I do,' I had said.
Chiron looked at me with dad eyes. 'My dear boy, I wish I could believe you, but Annabeth vowed on the river Styx she was telling the truth, and the Styx accepted.'
He let out a sigh. 'Percy, what are you doing?'
'Chiron, please..' I tried.
He swallowed. 'As much as I love to let you stay at camp, I can't. The Gods made the promise to banish their children from camp and abandon them if they would ever attack another camper out of cold fury. I fear there is not much more I can do for you.' Chiron walked over to me and put a hand on my shoulder, which caused me to flinch. 'I suggest you go pack your bags, and leave by morning.'
I pushed him away and stepped backwards.
'You can't do this to me,' I said.
Chiron gave me a sad smile. ‘I’m sorry.’At the same time, a blinding light appeared, and before I knew it, I was standing in front of the Olympian Council. I blinked a few times, unsure of what I saw, because I couldn't believe it. Sure, there were a lot of Gods that really didn't like me, but now everybody looked at me angrily. I swallowed.
'Perseus Jackson,' Zeus' voice boomed through the room. 'For seriously injuring a demigod on purpose, we will vote for the decision.'
'But I didn't do anything!' I shouted.
'Silence!' Zeus shouted back. 'Those in favour of banishing Perseus Jackson, raise your hand.'
It made me want to throw up, because every single God or Goddess had raised their hand, even my own father.
'You can't do this to me,' I said, but no one seemed to listen to me.
'Perseus Jackson,' a voice said, and I felt the shiver run down my spine.
My father looked at me.
'You are abandoned from Camp Half Blood, to never show your face and return again. With your abandoning, I disown you as my son, for no longer to be my blood, and to no longer be part of my family.'
He spat the last words at me, like he had built up a hate for me.
'No,' I whispered. I felt the cold feeling spreading in my chest. Imagine your hope to be laid on the ground, when someone crushes it with his bare feet. Imagine it to be your own father, doing it. It hurts, doesn't it. That's what I felt. Only a minute had gone by when I returned to the Poseidon cabin. Breathing became hard when a voice started talking.
'Leave.' It said. 'Leave and never come back.'
