When we re-emerged from our suites, I was amazed to see Emy's choice of attire. She was wearing an unusual looking dress that fell to mid calf, it was dark blue and had a swirling pattern embroidered down the front. I realised instantly that it was one of her own designs, I'd seen her sketch it a hundred times on any piece of paper she could find.

"Emy, wow! That looks even better than your original design, are you wearing it for dinner?"

Emy was grinning from ear to ear, "Thanks, yeah of course I am, that's what clothes are for, Cass."

I smiled and watched her twirl in the dress, it flared out around her and I was reminded of the numerous differences between us. I didn't like dresses, I preferred trousers or the leggings that this world favoured. Which made me wonder if they were expecting me to wear a dress for the fancy dinner we were meant to be going to. I added it to my list of questions as Emy and I walked down to the dining room to eat. Everyone stared when we entered and I grinned as Emy blushed bright red. The men at the table stood and we took what was becoming our usual seats.

The meal was as delicious as always and everyone managed to keep the conversation light. Once we were done, everyone separated into their own little groups and Emy and I retired to our suites. She grabbed her sewing kit and came to spend time with me. I skimmed through a book while laid on the sofa and she sewed a part of a new outfit she was working on.

Our lessons were to start up again the next morning and complaining about it made us both feel better. We knew we'd have to get an early night to be rested for whatever strenuous lesson came first, I said goodnight to Emy and went to bed to read my book. I knew it was getting late by the time I had put the book down but each chapter was too inviting to stop.

I finally managed to doze off, only to be met with dark dreams that had women crying at the top of their lungs and great storm clouds billowing in from all directions. I was grateful when I found someone shaking me awake, I looked up to see Emy towering over me.

"Cass, wake up! Jeez, what were you dreaming about? A shark attack?"

I rubbed the sleep from my eyes and sat up, "No, I was dreaming about... clouds."

Emy looked at me like I'd lost my mind and then waved it aside, "Never mind that, our first lesson is with Kayle, of all people. He said if we don't have breakfast in the next fifteen minutes and meet him in the gardens, we can forget about being done by lunch."

She looked utterly disgusted with him but I couldn't help laughing.

"He wouldn't do that, he loves food as much as the next person."

"Well he's already outside getting things together, he must have inhaled his breakfast. Hurry up and get ready or you'll have to kiss lunch goodbye."

She curled her lip and rolled her eyes as she rushed back out of my room and left me to get ready.

When I arrived in the dining room, there was only Emy sat at the table and she was already munching on her breakfast. I sat down and grabbed some for myself, pausing to glance at the other side of the table where the guys usually sat.

"They grabbed a few things and headed out, I don't know where they went but it looked urgent." Emy explained between mouthfuls of oat cereal.

I frowned as I looked over at the empty chairs, it felt strange but I kind of missed them sitting there. I shook off the stupid feeling, focusing on getting some food down me before we rushed out to the gardens for our lesson with Kayle. Blaike and Kaleb were already out there, Kaleb was still eating something and I felt a little better that Emy and I still had food in our hands.
