Dove Cameron as Maddison Warren
"COULD YOU HURRY UP!" I groaned impatiently. Beware, I'm the most impatient person on this planet.
"Oh my god, Maddie! Can you wait FIVE SECONDS!" My best friend Mason yelled from the kitchen.
"I've been waiting for THREE minutes already!" I threw my hands up in frustration.
Mason then comes strolling out of the kitchen with a cooler in his hand.
"Now, impatient child, I have brought us snacks and drinks because I know you so well and you would make me drive you to Taco Bell because you are absolutely starving." he rolled his eyes.
I put my hand to my heart and clutched my chest, I put on some fake tears to help.
"You really are my best friend" I sniffled.
"Yes, now lets go" he walks out the door, he just wants this to go by faster.
Let me explain, in Math class he made a bet with me that he would get a better score on the test we took two days ago. If I got the better score Mason would have to take me to the park.
Don't judge me, the playground is the one place I can act crazy, I can have fun, and I won't have to worry about anyone judging me. If Mason got the better score then I would have to buy him lunch for a week. The lunch at our school is expensive and I'm not paying for him.
Once I saw all the playground equipment I ran straight to it.
You can probably guess who won that bet.
I jumped over the wooden planks that gave the park a boundary and my sneakers hit the mulch that covered the whole place.
Once I was in the playground I climbed on the highest piece of equipment that I was certainly not supposed to climb on and watched as Mason casually stepped over the playground boundary and looked at me annoyed.
He's such a loser.
"Since I won the bet you have to take me to the park and play with me" I whined.
Yes, I'm certainly a child. A 17 year old child.
He rolled his eyes, really just wanting to get this over with and set the cooler by the bench where parents can watch their children play.
I felt bad for him because he's much more mature than I am and I know it can be a little embarrassing to play at a playground when you are a teenager, but literally no one else is here and it's pretty dark. Not that dark, the sun is setting now.
The park will be good for him anyway, he needs to loosen up a bit, he's too uptight for a teenage guy.
Mason is a football player, not the quarterback but he's pretty good and he's fast. I don't do football and I don't know anything about it, basketball and softball/baseball is a different story.
My twin brother, Max, played baseball in his younger years, then in middle school it was football and high school it is basketball. I go to the games but I have no idea what I'm watching.
Mason was also tall as crap, I don't know exactly how tall he is but he's at least 6,1 and I'm only 5,2 so he's a giant to me.
Anyway, Mason set down the cooler and looked at me expectantly.
"I don't know what to do" he shrugged looking around like he didn't want to be here.
I smirked at him before saying, "Chase me."
I jumped off the the roof of the equipment I was standing on and if it wasn't for the adrenaline I would have fell on my butt.
Mason chased me around the whole park and since he was pretty athletic he was fast but I was small and could fit under the stairs and all.
