Chapter 5 Jane
“Are you excited Jane?” Leah said looking out the window eagerly awaiting Troy’s car to pull up.
“I don’t know Leah I feel kind of nervous,” I said twirling Troy’s ring gracefully through my fingers.
“He’s here he’s here” Leah said as she bounced up and down. We walked down the stairs to see Leah’s mom greeting Troy at the door. Leah walked over to her mom and started to push her out of the room.
“Hi Leah” troy said to Leah as he laughed.
“Hi Troy, Bye Jain.” She said then turned and continued to push her mom out of the room.
“Hi Jane” he said giving me a hug and kissing my cheek
“Hi Troy” I said laughing when I saw Leah’s mom stick her head out from around the corner. She smiled then pulled her head back from around the corner. Troy started to laugh too.
“Are you ready Jane?” he said motioning towards the door with his hand.
“Yup” I said turning were Leah had disappeared. “Bye Leah I’ll see you later.”
“Bye Jane” Leah said this time poking her head around the corner and waving goodbye. Troy and I laughed again as we were walking out to the door and heading towards his car, He walked over to side and held the door open for me.
“Right this way ma-lady” Troy said winking at me. I started to feel my cheeks getting warmer and I knew that I had started to blush. In one swift movement he closed my door and walked around to his side of the car.
“You’ve never been to my house before Jane.” He said as he slid into the drivers seat. The way he said it didn’t sound like a question but I answered him anyway.
“No I guess I never have Troy” I said thinking back to when Troy and I were kids, and how he used to treat me… and why my father didn’t want me to come back here.
“Here we are” Troy said waking me from my trance. I looked out the window to see the most beautiful house I’ve ever seen. It was all light blue with a deep blue trim. The porch was all enclosed with a small two-person swing hanging in the corner.
“Well here it is,” he said staring at the house.
“It’s beautiful Troy,” I said as he opened my door.
“You didn’t have to do that Troy,” I said as he started to help me out of the car.
“I know but I want to” Troy said winking at me.
“Flatterer” he started to laugh at me. When I was out of the car Troy wrapped his arm around my shoulders and walked me up to the house.
“My parents are going to be gone for the night so we’ve got the house to ourselves” he said as he was taking off my jacket and hung it in the closet by the door. His house was just as beautiful on the inside as it was on the out side, but instead of blue it was pure white.
“Shall we” Troy said while taking my hand and leading me towards his room. Troy put his arm around me when we where walking. I started to feel my cheeks getting hot again and I tried to fight it. He must have noticed that I was blushing because he had started to laugh. I started to glare at him, but that had only made him laugh more. He opened the door to his bedroom and it was the very same color as the trim outside. It had a large queen bed in the corner, he also had a huge flat screen T.V opposite his bed, and there were some posters of Skillet on the walls but other than that there wasn’t much else in his room.
“Well this is it,” he said.
“Awesome room” I said still looking around the room.
“Thanks” he said while plopping down on the bed “Here come sit with me” patting the bed next to where he was sitting. I walked over and sat right next to Troy. He grabbed the remote and turned on the giant T.V and started some movie. We leaned on the wall and Troy entwined our fingers together. I had never seen this movie before I think it was called Van Helsing or something it was pretty cool, but it wasn’t the best movie I had ever seen. I jumped when Troy spoke to me and broke me out of my trance.
“Hey Jane do you want some popcorn” Troy said smiling at me
“Sure Troy” I said smiling back at him. We hopped off the bed and walked down to the kitchen. Troy put a big bag of popcorn into the microwave and we sat at the table watching the bag blow up.
“Hey Troy”
“Yea Jane” he said looking into my eyes.
“That ring you gave me…” I said lifting the ring from my neck “It has Wa-Hya-a-s-Ga-Yu written on it, what dose that mean?” he smiled.
“It means Wolf Man in Cherokee,” he said still smiling.
“How do you know Cherokee?”
“My grandma was an old Cherokee medicine woman, and she used to teach me the Cherokee culture” he said while taking the bag out of the microwave. Now that I thought about it Troy did look like he was Cherokee, his hair was black and very long, his skin has always been a deep tan, and his eyes where the deepest blue that I have ever seen.
“Come on” Troy said taking my hand in his. We walked back upstairs to his room. The movie was still playing when we got back but we didn’t care. We sat watching the movie for a wile before Troy turned to face me. He smiled then leaned in and kissing me, it was more passionate kiss then the one that he gave me earlier. He cupped my face in his hands as my hands worked to the back of his head entangling my fingers into the silky goodness. I loved how his hair felt in my fingers. His hands dropped from my face and went around my waist. He gently pulled me into him. Suddenly we heard the door open then shut again.
“My mom must be here,” Troy said breaking our kiss. Troy put his finger to his lips and quietly shushed.
“Troy are you home?” a woman’s voice said.
“Yeah mom I’m here,” Troy said before kissing my forehead one more time before we turned back to the T.V. Troy put his arm around my waist. We started to hear footprints; we turned towards the door. Then a small woman walked in. She was a short woman, but she had a great figure, and had long hair that had just a touch of silver in it. She was wearing a yellow sundress with white flowers on it.
“Hi mom, you remember Jane right?” said Troy smiling at his mom.
“Oh Jane,” she said smiling at me “I missed you the last five years I bet you don’t even remember me.” she said laughing then smiling at me. I smiled back as she came over to shake my hand, she was right I only kind of remembered her, Oh Crap! What was her name?
“Thanks um…” I said starting to panic.
“It’s Alicia,” I heard Troy whisper in my ear, “But call her Lici.” Then his mom started to laugh as she released my hand.
“I knew it,” she said continuing to laugh. “It’s me Jane Mrs. Moore I was your kindergarten teacher, before I marred Troy’s father” she said smiling at me.
“Oh yea I remember you now” I said starting to laugh; they started to laugh to.
“Oh I almost forgot why I came up here,” she said handing Troy a stack of takeout menus, “You two look it over and decide what you want.” She smiled one more time before walking over to the door.
“Well I’ll leave you two alone now, nice to see you again Jane” she said before walking out of the room. As soon as the door closed Troy turned to me again. He kissed me again moving his hands to my hips. I put my arms around his neck. He pulled me into his arms.
I broke the kiss first. “Should we be doing this with you mom in the house?” I pulled my head back so I could look at Troy. He laughed and pulled me closer to him. There was only an inch of air between us. I wanted desperately to lean up and fill the air between us but I stayed where I was.
“Don’t worry Jain,” he said before leaning in and kissing me again.
