Kirishima yelped as he was roughly tugged back, narrowly missing hitting his head on the railing. He was half thrown back over the railing and onto the roof, landing on something. Someone.
Kirishima's eyes clenched shut and he breathed a sigh of instant realization. He's not gonna die today. He didn't bother to open his eyes, and only leaned into the warmth of whoever 'saved' him, until he heard a strangled breath, as if someone was trying to hold back tears.
Tears for him?
His eyes widened and he looked up at the person, instantly recognizing their ash blonde hair, and piercing blood-red eyes. Those eyes which were glassy with tears.
''What the fuck are you doing, sh- Kirishima..?'' He asked, straining his voice to not crack or break, pulling Kirishima close to his chest, and rubbing circles into the red-head's back. Kirishima never answered, and Bakugo buried his face into the shorter boy's hair.
Kirishima stiffened when he heard a soft sniffle, then a growl come from Bakugo. Bakugo grabbed his wrist roughly (careful not to touch the obvious scars), before dragging Kirishima down the stairs, past the common room and back into the dorms. No one noticed the tearing up Bakugo and now sobbing Kirishima, as Bakugo tugged Kirishima into his dorm, shutting the door behind him. Bakugo sat down on his bed, stressfully staring up at Kirishima.
''Kirishima, answer me!'' He yelled, no venom in his voice. Only hurt. Kirishima still didn't answer and stared at his feet, before his legs gave way. Bakugo caught him and dragged him onto his lip, wrapping his arms around Kirishima soothingly, speaking no words. But actions were good enough, and Kirishima pushed his face into Bakugo's shoulder, breaking into tears.
''Why?'' Kirishima asked, voice cracking. ''Why didn't you let me fall?'' Bakugo didn't look up or turn to look at Kirishima, and only mumbled something into his chest. Kirishima leaned backwards a tad, so he could hear Bakugo. ''Come again?'' He asked quietly.
Bakugo didn't hesitate to avoid the question. ''Why did you want to jump? The whole class knows you've been saving multiple others from suicide... Why you?'' Despite Bakugo's silent protests, his voice cracked mid-sentence, and he stiffly raised a hand to wipe away a tear. Kirishima flinched, and clenched his eyes shut. In a moment of realization, Bakugo paused, before using the hand which was still mid-air to grab Kirishima's head and pull him in softly.
He let out a tattered sigh. ''Kirishima, promise me you'll never do that ever again... You can stay with me. You don't have to go home.''
Kirishima stayed silent, only nodding swiftly. He sniffled, and wiped away a tear. "'M sorry,'' he cried, and Bakugo only rubbed circles onto his back. ''It's not your fault. Kirishima, you're too important to do something like that. I'm a fucking mess, you're the only one who can get through my dense skull and you know it. Fuck,'' Bakugo sent a hand through his own hair, wiping away a large bead of sweat.
Kirishima had begun to drift off, listening to Bakugo's voice ramble on and on. Guess, the tables have turned. Kirishima, once the now comforting and chatty ray of sunshine (at this point in time a depressed, quiet boy) was giving his friend who was normally grumpy and obnoxiously rude (who at this point was probably going to keep talking til he lost his voice in general) the silent treatment.
Just as Kirishima felt himself slip from conscienceness, he mumbled something he never regretted to Bakugo, clinging onto his shirt for his life. ''I love you.''
Bakugo paused his speaking for a moment, whether it was because he was rudely cut off or because he was shocked, before he smiled. ''I love you too, shit-hair. You don't need to prove yourself to anyone. You are the real hero of our school and families surrounding it.''
Maybe all stories can have a happy ending.
