Chapter 1 ~Cruel reality~
Harsh sunlight peeked through my closed drapes causing me to cringe at the thought of getting up and starting the day at prison, or as most people call it, Eastbrooke Secondary.
My alarm screeches as it makes it's ear piercing noise, telling me it's 7:00 am. Refusing to move from my comfortable position I try to block out the frustrating thing telling me to get up. But as hard as I try nothing will propel it's satisfying urge to bestir me out of bed.
Giving in I reluctantly arise and press firmly on the stop button, temptation swept through my mind to forget school, exams, life. But only if it was that easy! If only life had a stop button that fixed all the irritating problems. But reality is always a hard truth and life isn't that simple.
A soft knock on the door interrupted my thoughts,
"Come in" I voiced croakily still a bit sleep deranged.
The door slowly opened and there stood my mother, A purple dressing gown was wrapped around her perfectly with a tight knot at the front to keep it in place. Her light brown hair hung in a messy bun and her soft green eyes complemented her striking features.
She gazed at me, then her lips arch to make a small but innocent smile.
"It's your first day of senior year and your wearing an odd choice of clothing" She giggled noticing my bright pink pyjamas in which I was wearing.
"I thought I would be original, you know the just woke up, still cute tho look! I heard it's very in this year" i stated striking the best model pose I could pull, complementing it with the worst duck face I could attempt.
Giggling she slowly left the doorway and grabbed me off the bed pulling me to my feet and tightly caresses her arms around my back.
"You are so much like him you know!" She says gently blinking back a sob.
"He would've been so proud of you!"
Snuggling into the depth of her shoulder, the cruel pain of reality tells me that he's never coming back.
Releasing from her hug, I wipe the tear that slowly streams down her innocent face, giving her a smile.
"Have fun today!"
She tells me as she gives me a kiss, then slowly walks out and closes the door behind her.
Strolling my way towards the wardrobe, I place on my favourite pair of light denim skinny jeans that complemented my legs. I wore a plain white singlet that shaped my body perfectly with cream scarf to rest around my neck, and the best pair of light brown ugg boots I owned.
When I was dressed I made my way to the vanity, which stood across from my window. Taking a seat I stare at the girl before me, she had light brown hair and deep blue eyes, like her father. Pushing past the thought I grab the brush and swiftly untangle my messy morning hair. Placing my neatly brushed hair beside my shoulders. Makeup wasn't essential, especially since I never cared what people thought of me anyway.
Once I had placed my books into my bag I dreadfully headed of to school.
