I got home late that night. The plane was delayed due to snow. I unlocked the door and walked inside. After closing the door I took off my heels. My feet were killing me. I went into the living room and there was Peter sitting on the couch waiting for me.

"Peter?"

He jumped up and came over to wrap me in a soft gentle hug.

"Hey hon. How was work?"

"Good. The plane got delayed because it's snowing in New York, but what are you doing up?! It's 12:00 in the morning!"

"Morgan and I were going to wait for you, but I sent her off to bed at like 10:30. I decided to stay up."

"Peter... I... wow. Thank you. So much."

He smiles. "I love you."

"I love you too Spider-Boy."

He smiles. "Now... can we go to sleep."

"Let me take a shower first."

"Okay."

I walked up a few stairs then looked at him.

"Well are you coming?"

"Uh...umm... yes?"

I laughed and walked up the stairs.

(Timeskip)

I went to my room and put on some pajamas. As did Peter. I laid in my bed and he laid next to me.

"Maya?"

"Yes Peter."

"What's on your mind?"

"Nothing."

"You can't lie to me Maya... I saw the video."

I sighed. "I'm trying to get over it. It's been two years, I've gotta move on."

"Maya. Look at me."

I did.

"Tony is your father. You watched him die. You won't ever get over that. The pain wont ever go away, but one day it'll stop coming in waves. One day it'll stop giving you nightmares every night and one day, you'll be able to rest knowing you fulfilled his legacy. Until then, you have to fight. For me, for Morgan, for Peoper, and for Tony."

I hugged him. He held me close. "I love you Peter."

"I love you too Maya."

I closed my eyes and he began to sing Story Of My Life until I fell asleep. I loved him so much. I didn't know what I'd done to deserve him. I wondered why a guy like him, who deserves so much better, got me.

Later that night I began to have a nightmare. I was back on that dreadful battle field. Except it was pitch black and eerily quiet. Everything was still. Then the laughing started. Cackling even. It wouldn't stop. It was a deep voice. It was thick and rigged like an ocean rock smothered in molasses. I wanted to move but I was frozen in place. Then one by one I watched all of my friends and family turn to dust. Slowly. They all called for my help but I couldn't move. Clint, Steve, Bruce, Thor, Pepper, Sam, Bucky, Dad, Peter. Though Peter was different. He didn't turn to dust. He was left standing. He ran as fast as he could to me before the earth around me erupted in flames. Then he was just... gone. The cackling grew louder and louder until I couldn't bare it anymore. I was screaming in fear. Then the ground opened up and I was dropped into and endless pit of water. It was pitch black and swimming to the top was no use. The ground above me closed. My lungs begged for air and soon I was taking huge gasps of water and my lungs slowly drowned themselves. Then those three words. The three words that haunted me every time I closed my eyes. "I am inevitable." I shot up and screamed again. Tears streamed down my face. Peter jolted up beside me.

"Maya! Maya it was just a dream, I'm here. I'm here. It's okay. You're okay."

I breathed heavily and my heart raced. The tears didn't stop. Peter hugged me tightly. After a few minutes I was able to calm down.

"I'm going downstairs." I said.

"Maya you need sleep."

"I'll sleep later. You go back to sleep I'll be okay."

"Maya..."

I left the room in a hurry. I needed to be alone. I just needed to breath.
