"Good morning, f/n!"
Said girl yawned, covering her mouth with the back of her hand as her eyes closed. "Good morning, Mina, Ochaco."
Y/n trudged over to her seat to the right of Midoriya, practically tossing her bag of textbooks as she sat down. She looked to her right at the other, much more energetic girls in the class. Her e/c eyes glanced around the room: Mr. Aizawa sleeping, Bakugou yelling at Kirishima over who knows what, Denki and Mineta whispering something perverted in the corner, and then there was Deku.
Something about the boy always intrigued y/n, yet she could never wrap her mind around it - until recently, that is. Mina enjoyed teasing her about the feeling, saying she "loved Midoriya". If she was being honest, within the past few months, she began to believe the girl's words, so much that she blushed just thinking of the broccoli boy.
Y/n made a left turn in her seat, facing the boy next to her. Taking a peak at what he was writing in his notebook, she noticed a fairly accurate sketch of her hero costume, a detailed description of her quirk next to it. The small, single heart next to her first name did not fail to catch her attention, making her lips turn up into a mini smile.
"Good morning, Midoriya," she abruptly said, making Deku practically jump in his seat. "Oh, sorry!"
Y/n leaned one arm on the back of her chair while the other covered her mouth, trying to stifle a laugh. Deku, sitting opposite of the h/c haired hero in training, shut his book of heroes with speed, a blush spreading like wildfire on his cheeks.
"I-it's alright, l/n... Good morning to you, as well," he replied, fiddling with his fingers.
Y/n sighed, a lop-sided smile on her face as she held a soft stare.
"My gosh, he is so cute! Fluffy hair, cute green eyes, and all those adorable freckles- what the heck am I thinking?!?"
Her gaze was abruptly broken at her sudden moment of realization. Lifting her hands, she gently patted her pink cheeks, as if it was some sort of wake-up call. Y/n began to face forward in her seat, that is until her name was called.
"Hm?"
Deku blushed at the unconscious smile she gave him.
"Did she smile like that on purpose? Am I just imagining things? Is this another dream? No, it couldn't be. I would have woken up when I was startled- get a hold of yourself! You don't get to talk to this girl everyday. Don't mess this chance up!"
"I, uh... I-I wanted to tell you, um, something."
"Am I gonna say this now? Abort! Abort!"
"Sure! What'd you need?"
Deku took a deep breath with his eyes closed, making y/n automatically smile once more.
"I really like you, l/n, and I think it's more than basic attraction but I totally understand if you don't feel the same because if we're being honest you're too wonderful for me and it's not likely that you'll ever love me back but if you do I would like to take you out and-"
A soft shade of red coated the girl's cheeks as she smiled in embarrassment and continued listening to his rambling. This lasted for a good 15 seconds before she decided to say something.
"Midoriya."
"-maybe we could go on some dates? And-"
"Deku."
"-I would do my best to treat you right and-"
"Izuku."
"-I would protect you, although I know your just fine on your own-"
Y/n sighed, a smile ever-present on her lips, gazing at the boy who could not stop rambling unless someone physically shut him up. Nudging her chair slightly over to his, she looked around to her classmates, who seemed to be unaware of the current situation.
Placing her lone index finger under his chin, she tilted his head up, smirking playfully as he continued to talk nervously, oblivious of their position.
"-I just love you, ok-?
The boy's words came to an utter halt, the feeling on his lips unlike one that he had felt ever before. He sat surprised before realization hit him like a Detroit Smash. Deku turned redder, if that was even possible after his confession.
"This feels nice- wait. Is she kissing me?! Is f/n kissing me?! All Might, help me! What do I do-"
As the two were finally allowed to breathe again, y/n retook her place in her seat as if nothing had happened, although the flush of her cheeks was clearly visible. Meanwhile, Midoriya sat speechless, along with the rest of 1-A who witnessed the event. Even Bakugou stood shocked, momentarily stopping his argument with Kirishima. Anyone within a mile radius would be able to her a pin drop.
Y/n felt the gazes of her classmates on her and began unconsciously nibbling her bottom lip.
"So... About that date, Izuku."
She glanced with a small smirk at the flustered boy, who had 20 pairs of eyes on him now. He began rubbing the fabric of his uniform nervously in between his fingers, the glow on his cheeks radiating.
"W-would a-after school work?"
Y/n nodded enthusiastically. "That sounds great! Thanks, Izuku!"
Before another word could be said, a wild Aizawa appeared from behind his desk hosting his normal, disgruntled expression.
"Everyone, take your seats," he said, his monotone voice flowing through the classroom. "It's time to get started."
As the students of 1-A did as they were told, y/n shot one last glance to the boy on her left. Izuku, coincidentally doing the same, looked away in embarrassment after making eye contact with the girl. Y/n continued to smile gently at him, attracting his gaze once more.
Without giving himself time to think, he smiled back, almost falling into a daydream... That is until Mr. Aizawa snapped him out of it.
