<Asuna's PoV>
I looked at Kirito and he was himself again. The veins had disappeared and his red eyes went to normal again. He then came up to me and took of his shirt and jacket and handed it to me. "Hear wear this." He says. I nod and wear his shirt and jacket on top. I then couldn't help but hug him tightly. "Why did you come out at night without your sword?" He says and caresses my hair.
"I'm sorry... but thank you for saving me!" I say and cry into his chest.
"It's fine... it's my fault I didn't come back. Otherwise you wouldn't come here. Anyway let's head back" He says and cling onto his arm the whole way. "so how'd it go with your sister?" I ask and he looked sad but was smiling. "I didn't talk to her. She seemed happy with her family so I didn't interfere. Anyways what right do I have anyway. I abandoned her after all" He said with a hysterical chuckle.
"Come on Kirito... stop blaming yourself. You could explain to her why you did what you did. I'm sure she'll forgive you!" I say.
"Ah it's fine. It's best she stays away from me for her own good" He says and I sigh. I guess I should drop the subject. It will just make him more sad. We reach my house and enter. Looks like my mum has gone to bed as well. He then noticed the others sleeping in the living room. We then joined them. He sat down and I sat down next to him grabbing a blanket.
"You don't mind do you?" I ask, wrapping my arms around his body and resting my head on his chest. He shook his head and placed the blanket over us and he put an arm around me and I heard his breathing become steadier.
<Time Skip - Morning - Kirito's PoV>
I woke up but couldn't move because Asuna was practically attached to my body. I smiled a little and caress her hair. I could then hear her friends wake up so I decide to close my eyes. I didn't want to interact with anyone. "Hey guys look at Asuna!" The Liz girl shouted and the others all snickered. "Wow she's really gripping onto him. I wonder if he can breathe" Silica said.
"Should we try and get her off him..." Alice spoke.
"Yeah..." Simon said. I could feel Eiji try and move Asuna's hands from my back. But she tightened her grip. I could then feel my chest get wet a little. I opened my eyes and saw tears from her eyes. "Asuna wake up" I said shaking her and the others were shocked when they saw her in tears. When she saw me she instantly hugged me again.
"It was a nightmare... thank god!" She said and wiped away her tears. She stayed wrapped around me until she noticed the others staring and jumped of me instantly. "Guys... um." She started but she was red out of embarrassment.
"So you guys want to explain?" Eiji said getting annoyed.
"Well she told you we are a couple. So end of." I say and get up from the sofa. Asuna then grabs my shirt and gets up. "Wait where are you going?" She asks and looks worried. "A walk" I say. "Can I join you?" She asks. I simply nod and she gets up and goes to get fresh. I go to a separate bathroom and have a quick shower. I then wear my usual black outfit with a black hoodie. I then put my sword on my back and head out. I see Asuna with her friends. She's wearing a white coat with a red skirt and long socks.
She spots me and runs to me and grabs my hand. She was smiling. I mentally sigh. I'm probably not gonna see this when I go after Keita. I then walk forward with her clung to my arm. The others were behind us. "Kirito kun where are we going?" She asks.
"Where I used to stay." Was all I replied. And this got the others attention. They all seemed interested but I knew they'd lose it once we get on the path to the hut. It was a trek up a small mountain and once we arrived they were all dumbstruck. "You lived on top of a mountain?" Klein said looking at the height.
"Yes"
"Why a mountain"
"Away from people like you guys. It's always quiet and the forest are filled with nature's beauty" I respond getting flashbacks of when I was a kid with Asuna. We used to play here in the holidays. I looked towards her and she had a blush on her face. I'm guessing she recognised the place.
We climbed the mountain within half an hour and reached my cabin. It was I'd say medium sized. But Asuna's friends were shocked. "You call that medium?" Liz says with her mouth open.
"That's like a mansion!" Silica says.
I shrug and enter the house with Asuna behind me. "Explore as much as you want" I say and watch them enter and scatter around my house. Asuna joins them as well while I head outside. I couldn't take it anymore... where everyone died in front of my eyes.
<Asuna's PoV>
I went around the first floor and found Kirito's room. It was big and had a single bed by the window. His wardrobe was built along the wall which was a lot. I then saw on his bedside table a photos. Two were in a frame. One was cracked and had him and his family. I couldn't help but tear up... his life was scarred this whole time. Why didn't he come earlier? I broke down in tears holding his picture.
I then felt someone's presence enter the room. I quickly stood up and wiped away my tears. "Oh sorry... I just found it on the floor" I say and see that it was Kirito. I looked at his face. It was so emotionless. I always saw him smiling and laughing. I hated it! I then ran up to him and hugged him.
"Why did you bear this all alone for so long?" I broke down again in his arms.
