4 months. I had only been at that lousy orphanage for 4 months but it seemed like 4 years. Every day was the same. Wake up, sit through some dreary lecture, eat flavourless food in the cafeteria alone, some more lectures and then back to bed. I was sick of it already. Until this one night when it all changed.
I was laid in my dingy room trying my best to fall asleep and dream of being anywhere else but the orphanage. But as hard as I tried I just couldn't, so I put on a pair of slippers, snuck out of my room and headed down the corridor to the lounge where I often went to on nights like this. I slumped on the old sofa and stared out of the window at the beautiful city lights that glistened like stars and thought about how much I longed to be out of here and part of the real world.
"Can't sleep?" An unfamiliar Boston accent snaps me out of my thoughts as I spin my head around to face the figure behind me. There was a tall, messy brown haired boy leaning in the doorway with his arms crossed. He was gorgeous, probably a year older than me and staring me straight in the eyes as I felt my cheeks turn an embarrassing shade of red. I quickly turned my gaze back to the window in attempt to hide my now tomato-like face and replied
"No, you?" cringing at the obvious shyness in my own voice.
"Nah, never been much of a sleeper, especially in this dump." I smiled at his response as he took a seat next to me on the sofa, he was even more beautiful close up.
"Yeah me neither." I said, studying him out of the corner of my eye, I tried to hide my excessive blushing. We sat in silence for a while just admiring the city view together when he eventually turned to me and introduced himself "I'm Sam Morgan by the way."
"(Y/N)." I replied, smiling at him.
"So you like the city too?"
"Yeah." I smiled. "Reminds me of a time before I was stuck in these four walls."
"So what'd ya' say we go check some of it out up close?" He smirked, looking excitedly at me with his hazel-brown eyes.
I couldn't believe what he'd just said! Was he serious?
"You mean sneak out? Are you sure?" I asked with excitement in my voice.
"Yeah why not?" He smirked a mischievous smirk again that made me want to melt.
"But if we get caught we'd be-"
"Then let's not get caught." He cut me off as he stood up in front of me and held out his hand. "So what'd ya say (Y/N)?" In that moment I don't know what it was but something in his eyes told me to trust him, to go with him and never look back. So I took his hand and he pulled me to my feet, leading me on our first adventure, little did I know that that night would be the start of the rest of my life.Hi! Sorry if this one seems a little rushed/short but it's my first one so I didn't really know what to write about.
