''Hope!'' Clarisse screamed through the door and her friend immediately came running out of the bathroom.

''What's wrong?''

Clarisse looked back at Hope as the blonde reached for her ear and uncapped the earrings she had on. She had gotten up earlier in the morning than her roommate so as to ready herself properly for PE.
The darker haired one of the two was still in bed, only her hair was smoother and her skin not as oily as when Hope herself arose from slumber every morning.

Clarisse sighed and let out a yawn as her palm went to block the sight of her tonsils and she looked out the windows at the semi-bright light.

''What time is it?''

''Six-thirty.'' Hope answered nonchalantly before she turned to the mirror facing the desk, nearly knocking over that god forsaken map.

''You woke me up at six-thirty?'' Clarisse sighed and pushed the comforter back just slightly to better lean on the headboard. ''Why?''

''You said you wanted to put the map back in Nelson's office before he noticed.'' The brunette slumped in defeat, much like her friend had the night before and buried her face in her hands.

''Remind me again why I wanted to do this at all?''

''Because you stole it?'' Hope tried and put the earrings she'd taken off on the small-sized chest that sat at her right.

''I meant the soulmate thing.''

Hope cringed at the word slightly but looked back at her friend nonetheless.
''You're asking me?''
She turned back around and watched her reflection while it zipped up the jacket she had on.

''You're going to run?''

''Have to. For the grade, mostly.'' She shrugged and perched her foot on a sofa as she bent over to tie her laces. When the sole of her shoe made contact with the leather, she winced slightly but otherwise gritted her teeth at the sharp sting that inhabited her injured foot.

''Maybe you should try and imitate Nelson's signature on that one. So no more PE.'' Clarisse pointed at the foot but Hope shrugged and shook her head when she looked back to her friend before putting it back down.

''It's fine. Besides, practice makes perfect.'' She put both hands on her hips and looked back but even with that confident smile on, Clarisse still couldn't keep from thinking that she looked like the old people in blue jumpsuits that always hung by the park. The only thing missing was that she wasn't going for a walk to feed the ducks.

''You're a masochist. You're going to hurt yourself.'' She tried again but only halfheartedly this time, since she knew pretty well how stubborn her friend was.

''And you're late.''

Clarisse looked up and her nails went to scratch up at the back of her head, as clueless as ever.
''What for?''
