The Mystery Inside: Year One

Part I

Hogwarts: one of the most popular wizarding schools in the whole country. Due to the popularity, many families moved across the country, and even across the world, to allow their young and bright children to get a great education that Hogwarts has gained a reputation for. Yeah, Beauxbatons and Durmstrang are pristine within Europe. And you have Ilvermorny in the States. But Hogwarts? Hogwarts is said to have millions of untold secrets lingering in the halls. Secrets that every wizarding family is determined to discover.

Every year, thousands of families travel in hopes that their children would become next in line to go to Hogwarts, yet a little over a hundred students are accepted each year. The chance of fate is played every year as disappointed families from across the world fail to get accepted into the Hogwarts family; their travels left in vain.

However, for the few travelers that manage to get into the corridors of Hogwarts, the stakes are high. For seven years only, these students must find and uncover these secrets while balancing the pressures of classes and managing friendships. This path is risky, yet everyone chooses to follow this road rather than the straight and narrow.

For over thirty-seven years ago, the Rosier family traveled across the world as they heard of the faint rumors of Hogwarts from the streets of Boston in 1947. Abandoning their old life, six-year-old Madeleine Rosier and her family immigrated to Ireland in hopes of discovering the treasures that lie inside the school of wizardry and witchcraft. However, as time passed and Madeleine began her schooling, she met a young muggle boy whom her heart belonged to. She abandoned her family for a life of solitude with the muggle boy and her two children: Jacob and Alexa Clark. Both who inherited Madeleine's magical abilities.

Although the family lived in a small town away from most society, the Clarks grew up in a house without magic. This all changed the day of Jacob's eleventh birthday. As an owl flew into Clark's kitchen, it has become apparent that their lives without magic have quickly become demolished as Jacob was accepted into Hogwarts. Upon entering Hogwarts, Jacob soon discovered the secret mysteries of Hogwarts with an inability to stop. Gaining the same motives of the Rosier family two generations before him, Jacob became consumed with the passion to discover these mysteries and find the secret treasures hidden within the castle. This led to his expulsion and disappearance. Without a trace of where he went, Jacob Clark disappeared into thin air. Some believe that he died out of insanity. Others believe he began working for the Dark Lord. Neither way, it has been a mystery throughout Hogwarts where this mislead child went.

By the time Alexa turned eleven, it was a mystery if she would even be allowed on the grounds of Hogwarts. However, despite the legacy that Jacob has passed down for the Clark family, Alexa has received a letter of acceptance, sparking an outburst of rage from wizarding families across the country. Would Alexa conform to the rules that Hogwarts instills? Or would she be just like her troublesome brother?

As the young girl walked through the streets of Diagon Alley she felt like she was a pin lost in a stack of hay. Summer was winding down into the chillness of fall and the school year was rapidly approaching. With only a week left in August, Alexa Clark ventured alone to the bustling streets to purchase all of the supplies needed to attend her new school. The streets were a maze as Alexa tried to find the appropriate shops to buy her supplies. It would have been easier if her mother went with her, but with the embarrassment of her son still ingrained in her mind, Madeleine refused to face the wizarding community.

As Alexa strolled down the street, she grew scared that bystanders would recognize her. It has been a few years since she was able to openly venture off into the wizarding world without the stares of strangers judging her for the actions of her brother. Alexa kept her head down low as she passed through the crowds.
