So, mini rant...
My first tattoo was nothing of what I expected. I am not personally not one for astrological signs nor symbols. Ironically my first tattoo happened to be a Pisces Constellation. I felt it was something simple and like I could manage since I was dealing with it being in my inner forearm.
Side note: (Obviously) If you're wanting a tattoo on your forearm then please be aware that the closer to your wrist the worse it will hurt due to nerves and tendons.
Regardless getting my tattoo was not all that difficult. I actually managed to book my appointment a lot sooner than I thought. I actually just got it this last recent Saturday (8/10/2019). I got it a lot sooner since the guy doing my piece had some free time had some free time. The piece I got took approximately an hour, so it wasn't too bad. The further I got into the piece, the easier it felt it got. That may have been just because the artist I went through started in the region that was supposed to hurt (closer to the wrist).
One of my closest friends went with me to help me cope through it. I say cope because I had mad anxiety prior to sucking it up and actually booking and attending the appointment. He kept my mind pre-occupied by talking about D&D (Dungeons and Dragons for those that don't know), which was fairly easy since my group has three campaigns currently running. Nonetheless, the further along we got into my tattoo the easier it felt to handle.
I honestly would not worry about getting a tattoo, it is not as bad as you think. I have already been developing ideas for my next work. I am pretty excited about it too.
PS: I have been thinking about re-creating my story for Johnny Ringo (my fanfic created around the music works from Crown the Empire).
