Over the past hour, the sun had risen slowly, turning the sky grey as it did. It would be colder today, Hajun recalled. He didn't seem to care. Instead, the young male sat out on the guesthouse's balcony in his shorts and tank top, drinking black coffee from a Batman mug. The taste was disgusting, but at least it woke Hajun up.
Although, he wouldn't be sleeping right now either. His mind was running like clockwork. All he could think about was his members (yes–even Chao), their plans, and what the hell was going to happen now—Hajun couldn't find a quick solution, nor did he know if it existed.
Until he read Jihoon's letter.
Jihoon was...special. It was like he knew what to say (or in this case, write) when Hajun needed it the most. He was grateful for that. Thanks to his letter, there's a chance the leader might have a way to fix their problem now and therefore, no reason to keep wasting their time. Downing the rest of his coffee, Hajun pulls his phone out and dials a number as he retreats into the guesthouse, the faint sound of people chattering in the living room downstairs. The dial tone rings, then someone picks up.
"Hello?"
"Hi," He softly clears his throat. "I'm Jo Hajun. I want to discuss the offer you told me about the other day.."
__________
"He did what?"
Sonyeol nodded, tight smile on his lips. "You heard me." His nonchalant tone made Jeongguk look around as if he would find a hidden camera. Wayland watched him with judgement, then turned to Sonyeol.
"How did he do it? I thought we'd be in hiatus for a few more months, not weeks." Part of his was feeling disappointed, since he made plans to go visit a waterpark with friends next week. However, he'd have to cancel — all thanks to Hajun.
"He's been working for Blockberry Creative since Chang Yoonryul's new drama was announced, then someone asked if he would produce an album for one of the group's units, and now..." Jeongguk shook his head with a frown and Wayland was thinking about it. Sonyeol got fed up with how slow they both were, so he did what he had to do.
"We have a new company now!"
"No fucking way—" Wayland pinched Jeongguk's side to warn him, since people were starting to look at them because he was being too loud. The chipmunk boy winced as he scooted closer to Sonyeol. "Anyways, isn't that the company that Loona and Yoonryul's group is under? I don't see how two boy groups and a girl group will promote."
"Yeah," Wayland sipped from his metal straw with a frown. "I doubt they have that much money too. One of the reasons we got cut from JYPE was because we 'cost too much' or something like that. What if they do the same to us over here?"
"Stop being negative. Hajun wouldn't have done this if he had any doubts about the company, so try to believe in him more. You're starting to sound the Chao." Sonyeol said the last part quietly. Wayland perked up at the mention of their Chinese member. He hadn't heard from him since their last day at the other company.
"Hey, Seoju told us what happened at the dorms the other night." Jeongguk nodded along and turned to look at Sonyeol for his side of the events. There was a chance Seoju might've exaggerated and to be fair, they weren't at the place to see that happen.
"He was meaner to him—Maybe he's going through something, but aside from that—this could be a good change for us. Please?" His puppy dog eyes were used to his advantage and not long after that, both boys caved. Jeongguk tried to act casual about it, leaning back in his chair.
"If he's in," His finger points to Wayland and then himself. "So am I."
"I'd be jobless without this group, so count me in." Sonyeol lets out a forced laugh at that and looks down as he says this next part.
"Good, because you already have contracts ready to be printed and signed...surprise?" Wayland and Jeongguk's jaws dropped in total disbelief. They should've seen this coming — at lead time Wayland did, but Jeongguk? He was peeved to say the least.
"Oh, you fuckers—"
"Sorry, I just to go—Now, so bye!" Without another care, Sonyeol put some money down on the table and ran towards the exit. Wayland just glanced at Jeongguk with a smirk and gave him an 'I told you so look' before flagging down a server to tip for the drinks.
It seems like the group was staying together after all, thankfully.
