Stolen Dreams

Chapter 2

"Damn, you both are such annoying little girls!" I thought out loud. "We aren't little girls anymore Johnny" said Zoey. Bind me too a pole and call me a bunny, I can't believe I have to endure three more hours with them. But luckily I'll soon see my cousin Tyler for the long weekend at our famous lake house...

Finally we stopped at the lake and the first face I saw was Tyler's giving me that knowing grin that this weekend we were going to do something crazy and stupid like always.

"John, Johnny, Esta gente me esta volviendo loco. Welcome to the lake of sins.' Tyler said mischievously. "Tyler, my man it's been too long. We are going to do some crazy shit tonight." Tyler just laughed and showed me to my room. It's just past 5 o'clock and Tyler hasn't told me what the plans are yet, my thoughts were barely formed before Tyler bursts through the door throwing the car keys at me saying let's go!

"No, no, no oh fuck me!!" I cursed loudly because I let the car die right in front of everyone gathering by the lake party. Through all of Tyler's disgruntled laughter I could hear Tyler saying how much Miss Stacy must have loved the show. Just great, when I looked at her all the memories started flooding me again...

"Dude she stole your lipginity." Tyler mentioned. "You're such an idiot, dude" I said barely holding my laugh back. Then I thought back to that one summer when she stole my "lipginity".

There I stood, 14, and never been kissed, we were at the annual dance by the lake. I promised myself that I would ask her to dance when the next song started, just as she said yes strawberry lips started playing and I thought wow is this a cruel joke. As I was looking at her the lyrics "Kiss me" taunting me and just before making the move the power went out and she was gone, seeing nothing and then a sudden movement I grabbed at who I thought it was only to realise it was Betty, luckily before I could make the move I realised who it was and bolted.

Searching everywhere the power went back on; it was all a dumb prank. I finally found her under the oak tree near the lake where we could only see the soft glow of the dance lights in the background. I went to sit next to her saying "I accomplished nothing today. Not a single productive thing. But I thought of you, so, yeah, today was good." She said oh darling your always such a flirt and just instantly kissed me.

After the kiss I couldn't say anything but grin and look at her thinking I wish I could stop time in this exact moment, but then Betty came and ruined it all.

"Oh Johnny where did you go, are we playing hide and seek now, what will I win if I find you, another kiss?" Betty taunted. Like that the moment was shattered and Stacy slapped me through my face and said I was just like the others and ran away. I wanted to explain but it was too late, looking at Betty in utter disgust I thought of many words to say but the only thing that came out was "Why?" and the only thing she had to say for herself was that it was a joke...

"Earth to John" Tyler said. I didn't say anything to him and just drove away to park further from the gathering. We arrived at the more secluded part of the lake to shoot our fireworks and it was super illegal just by the way. Then Tyler said we should play a game of Russian roulette but with fireworks and I immediately said hell yes! As we were waiting for the fireworks to come down we both shared the same look saying why the hell did we do this.

Tyler was playing with his lighter flipping the lid closed. He kept joking that he was going to run away and as he started walking backwards he tripped over a rock and his lighter landed right by the fireworks which set them all off at once. Now this was a real screw up, we ran and screamed like little girls, not that we would ever admit it. As I ran I felt a sudden thump as I ran face first into the infamous miss Stacy, hitting her as hard as if I head-butted her...
