Chapter Fifteen: What's In A Name?

It was two days after the incident in Xander's office and so far I– thankfully–hadn't called anyone else by a God's name.Nobody had said anything about it, thankfully.

It was Monday morning and Harmonia,Hayden,Hailey and I were at iHop having breakfast before heading to work.Harmonia and Hailey got along like a house on fire which was both good and bad depending on how you viewed it.

"All my exes have been complete d×cks.You're lucky at least one of them lasted more than four months."Hailey complains.

Harmonia gives her a look."Do you know who my mother is?She always tries to control my love life and I just want to do it my way,please!Like,gods damn!"

As soon as she said that thunder rumbled overhead just like the time Xander had said the same thing in his office.Hailey and I looked outside but it was still a normal,sunny day.I looked at Harmonia and Hayden to see if they were as weirded out as I was but they looked fine.

"Did you hear that?"I asked her.

"Yes,it happens quite often though."She rolled her eyes at the roof as if directing it to the thunder.

"Harmonia."Hayden hissed."Don't anger them any further.Especially your mother."He shivered after he said as if he had a bad memory with Harmonia's mom.

Hailey spoke to Harmonia."Who is your mom anyway?You guys make her sound like a nightmare."

Hayden laughed humorlessly."She is."Once again the thunder rumbled. He looked sheepish."Sorry"He whispered.

Harmonia sighed."My mom is...a romantic. She loves love so if there's a relationship, chances are she's there as well.Maybe not physically but her,"she pauses as if looking for the right words."aura is there.But to put it kindly,she is a pain in the a×s."

Hailey looked as shocked as I was."Wow.That is hectic,I am glad she isn't my mother."

Harmonia nodded."Yeah,some of us don't have that kind of luck.Have you heard of AMS?"

Hailey nodded."That place is amazing,my aunt and uncle were matched on AMS and they have been together for twenty years now."

"Wait,wait, I'm confused.What is AMS?"I asked,frowning.

"Aphrodite Matchmaking Services.The perfect place to find your perfect match."Harmonia says with a slight purr in her voice.

"A godly service available anytime, anywhere.Established in 1619."Hayden finishes.

My eyes widen in shock and recognition."Sh×t!Your mother is Ava Rienet-Geroux.Harmonia,your mother owns a four hundred year old, international,multi-billion dollar dating service."

"Matchmaking service.She gets a bit touched when people call it as it is.But yes,that is my mother.Ava Rienet-Geroux."She said her name with a hint of sarcasm.

I wanted to ask more questions about her mother but Hayden interrupted me."Oh,no,we are so late."He was looking at his watch as he stood up.
