The last box to go up to my room was by far the heaviest, by the time I reached the top of the stairs I was ready to pass out. The entire day had been filled with taking boxes to our new rooms and unpacking. I had the unfortunate task of having to help my little sister who was 'too young to carry her own boxes', well that's what my mom says anyway.
"Isaac are you nearly done, Sam has more boxes to be brought up" My mom shouted to me from the front door. I had just this minute gotten up the stairs, that woman never gives me a break.
"I'll be done in a minute mom, just let me take my last box to my room first" I shouted back.
"Its fine Isaac I'll get it" My father said as he walked out the door towards the truck and grabbed a box with a pink fairy wand sticking out. I couldn't argue with the man so I turned and walked to my room. It was at the end of the hall just where I like it, far enough away from my sister's room. I kicked open the door and made my way towards the bed, placing the box on the floor I collapsed onto my bed.
Man, London is gonna be so hard to get used too I thought, But British accents are so hot. Maybe I'll make a lot of friends in time for my birthday. I began to smile at all the fun I could have in London, plus the legal drinking age is lower here.
"Isaac I don't hear any movement coming from your room, you better be unpacking and not doing anything else." I heard my mom shout to me once again.
"Oh for god sake mom, I was just lying down for a minute" I paused sighing "Okay I'll finish unpacking now" I could practically hear her smiling with joy at the fact that she won.
I only had one box left to unpack anyway and it was the one I had just brought upstairs. It had all my game consoles in it; it contained my X-Box, my PlayStation 3 and 4, my Wii and my Apple TV. It took some time to sort out wires and connect them all to my TV but it was worth it when I sat down to play Assassins Creed 3. Well it would have been worth it if my dad hadn't come into my room and asked me to take Sam to the park across the street before dinner.
"Do I really need to, it's only across the street" He gave me a look which I know so well, this look basically said 'Your mother is asking you to do this so get your ass up and don't complain'
"Okay fine" I gave in "How long should we stay over there for?"
"About 20 minutes, we're just ordering a pizza so when you see the van just head back over" I nodded in response as my dad walked out the room. I slid off the bed and onto the floor grabbing my shoes and shoving my feet into them once again. As I walked through the hall to my sisters' door I raised my voice for her to hear me as I said,
"Sam get your shoes on we're going to the park" to which I got the reply:
"No way, why would I go to the park with you?" I opened her door to find her sitting on her bed reading one of my old diaries that I wrote in when I thought it was cool to write in diaries.
"Where the hell did you get that?" I half shouted at her, that was my private business, she had no right to read it.
"It was in a box of your old stuff there you were going to chuck out but it looked interesting so I took it." My rage meter was going off the charts,
"All the stuff in that box was to get chucked out for a reason, now get your shoes on and come to the park"
"No, I still don't see why I have to go to the park with you" she replied defiantly.
"Because mom asked me to take you, do you really want to upset mom right now?" She looked down and shook her head, she understood as well as I did that we shouldn't defy mom, not right now anyway. She jumped off her bed and shoved me out her room while she put her shoes on. After a minute or so she opened her door and walked with me to the front door and over the grass patch to the park.
