Water, I awoke to the gentle sound of flowing water; presumably from a stream. A light sensation that I can only describe as feeling transparent was blanketing my body as my eyes slowly attempted to adjust to a star speckled night sky above. Something felt unusual but I couldn't quite keep a stable enough thought pattern to even attempt to figure out what that might be. The something didn't feel wrong, just peculiar.

Brushing my hands carelessly beside me, I recognized the innocent pleasure of warm grass. I smiled and lifted myself up to find that I was resting upon an open plain. A plain that was visible as easily as if it were the mid day despite it being night, like street lights in a dark lot.

Strewn about the field rested oddly shaped flowers that were bright purple in color, but were almost in a perfect spherical formation. I didn't know what to think of these for I was still not truly understanding my situation. Aimlessly, I picked myself up and walked over to one of these interesting flowers with harmless curiosity in mind. I reached down and picked a single one from a stem and examined closely. The purple sphere-like flower felt fuzzy to the touch and carried an interesting aroma similar to lavender, but not quite the same. It was a pleasant find indeed.

Suddenly as I'm standing intrigued by this simple flora - a faint flicker of light quickly emitted from within the flower. "Huh," I effortlessly muttered. The light returned once more with a few more flashes before brightly illuminating into a stunning display of purple radiance. Taken aback at this, I watched in awe as one by one the rest of the flowers around me began to perk up with the same attractive brilliance. What was this? It all felt so genuine but I couldn't think as to where I might be. This didn't feel...no it couldn't be real.

My wandering mind was quickly brought back into submission with the interruption of a warm silky voice.

"Beautiful aren't they."

I turned around, my eyes meeting with a set of piercing violet irises that belonged to a young girl who was fit to be around my age or perhaps a little older. She was sporting a simple yet pristine white A-line dress with a violet bow that tightened around the waist of her slim body. Her glossy hair of equally matching color swept past her face that wore a look of nervousness. "I-I mean I believe them to be. They're so calming to gaze upon and they look so wondrous in the night and. . . um. . ." The girl started to anxiously fidget with her hands in discomfort.

I didn't respond because - well - I didn't exactly know how to. I knew I should've reacted but...

"I - I apologize." The girl stuttered. "I really hope I have not caused a disturbance. Introductory type situations aren't my exactly my strong suit. I really wouldn't know where to even begin..." A small nervous laugh slipped passed her pale lips.

I stood in place trying to focus on this individual to the best of my ability. I felt words building up in my mouth on their own only to speak on my behalf. "Introductions suck." I blurted out immaturely. "People always judge you based on how you first meet them. You try to be nice but then you mess up on one word and then your hands get all sweaty then they ask to shake your hand but you're avoidant because now you don't want them to touch you because you're all sweaty, and oh my gosh, it's just a mess."

What the hell just came out of my mouth?

"Um.." The girl mumbled. "I-I don't think I understa-"

"Who are you?" I rudely interrupted without thought. "You're not normal." This girl's face lit up in embarrassment.

"Oh. I do apologize. I was getting there I believe. Kairos."

"Kairos?"

"Yes. Kairos is the name that belongs to me."
