Monster P.O.V

The world above my humble abode was buzzing with activity. Not that I minded, humans never journeyed to my little cave, and I had come to find out they would not discover us anytime in the near future. My life, although simple, was very nice. My cave was huge, but if you didn’t study it closely you wouldn’t even notice the small crevice that led to our home.

As I was preparing for another day underwater, I heard a sort of clanking. Looking out I saw a curious little machine traveling into the water. Suddenly, I saw a movement in one of the many windows of the vessel. One of the people on board seemed to have done something to one of the engines, because soon the submarine was free-falling into the darkness of the depths.

I looked out of the little peephole in the roof to see the metallic small outline of a submarine. For years I have lived peacefully, without interaction from the humans. Although, I was very curious to the behavior patterns of the humans, and decided this could be my chance to observe the creature that ruled above my world. I cautiously slipped out of my small niche and crept into the darkest corner of the cavern.

I watched as these pale beings scurried around the small vessel. The man that I had seen sabotage the engines slipped into what looked to be the sleeping quarters. Nervously, he glanced around the room until he locked on to a stray human sleeping soundly. A malicious grin grew on his face as he silently crept further in to the room.

With one last evil glance he eased the door shut and turned the lock. He turned around and pulled out a blade. As he approached the man, I looked away in horror. Never in my life had I ever experienced something as appalling and traumatic over that that happened. Never will I forget the look of pure cruelty in the man’s eye as he turned to face me.

With a shock I began to realize what had happened when the pale beings wrecked. That man had caused the tragedy to appease his need to murder. This way the man could be assured he would never get caught. With that I realized I would need to do something in order to save the rest of the humans.

The sound of a shriek broke me from my reverie. It seems the humans had finally found the body of that poor soul. I looked at the man who had alerted the people of the horror that lay in the room, his face was a green color and look of fear hazed his eyes. Out of the corner of my eye I noticed a movement, when I looked over that same man stood silently in the back of the group with a sickening look etched into his murderous face.

Soon they were soothed and assembled and decided to camp in what I assumed was the main quarters. Worried for the unsuspecting people I kept watch throughout the night. Soon, as twilight settled across the depths of the sea, the evil man crept out of the room. I waited in an uneasy suspense as I watched the man come back with a glinting blade. Averting my eyes I waited until I could not hear anymore stirrings within the ship.

As they awoke the next morning they saw the scene. Five bodies lay strewn across the small sub, a red liquid creeping out from around them. Soon, the human who had seemed sick took charge. I moved closer in an attempt to hear what came out of the man’s determined face.

He must have seen this movement as his head snapped immediately up to where I was. Staring into his eyes I saw the truth of humanity. N those glowing orbs held the thin line these humans always seemed to tread, the thin line of good and evil. These two paths were like trails of gasoline, one spark of emotion and the trail could blaze, leaving you with the opposite path.

Soon, however help had arrived. The vessel was fished from out of the ocean and I gazed at it ascended into the above world. Although, I never would forget those humans, and the murderous killer that had slaughtered his own kind.
