A STRAY KIDS APPLY FIC

Waves crashed against the cliff, water dark and rough.

CHANGBIN rummaged around in his drawers, pacing around his room after, contemplating on what to tell his peers.
"hi. i'm leaving for i don't know how long to find my soulmate. they might end up being a human, though."
he vehemently shook his head, almost giving himself vertigo.
"they won't approve one way or another. i'll just leave.... no, i can't just leave like that."

"can you shut up, i'm trying to sleep."
MINHO grumbled, hiding under his sheets. the male was obviously still hungover from last night, his voice hoarse and body tender.
he had it easy, nobody cared if he found a human to be his soulmate, but for CHANGBIN it wasn't that easy.

"i don't want to disappoint my father."
he pouted and plopped down onto the floor, legs crossed.
"you already have. get over it or get out."
MINHO sighed, pointing at the door, body still hidden under his thin linen sheets.

The wind howled, messing the boy's hair and making goosebumps run up his spine.

SEUNGMIN landed on the hard ground, panting. he hadn't expected his newly designed wings to require so much stamina. he should just invest in a pegasus and give up on engineering once and for all.
"man, i wish i'd just fall into the ocean and wait for anyone to either save or eat me alive."

"i could push you if you're down?"
JEONGIN now spoke, a smug grin displayed on his lips. he must've heard SEUNGMIN'S every word, the older shrugging dismissively.
"not yet anyways. i need to at least find a soulmate or the closest thing to a soulmate first. i can't die all alone."

JEONGIN tittered, before turning on his heel, looking at his older friend one last time.
"you'll never find love. just let me push you."
he really didn't want to push his friend, but sometimes he just couldn't help himself with blurting out stupid things like these.

Screams echoed through the rustling streets of a metropolitan city, a young male sprinting through the maze of alleyways, a puppy clenched to his chest, who barked occasionally.

JISUNG had utilized FELIX showing off to steal another companion for himself. now that his plans had been discovered, adrenaline was rushing through his veins. but rather than being scared, the boy was laughing out loud. he loved teasing humans, especially when something came from it, benefitting himself.

FELIX on the other hand, had his struggles to be let off by the people of a tavern he had charmed earlier. they ran after him, men advertising their daughters to the boy, while women and girls were staring at him, lovestruck and ready to risk it all for the demigod.

"FELIX, over here!"
JISUNG called from a rooftop, puppy still tight in his arms. his friend sent him a radiant, toothy smile and made his way through the crowd, reaching the other boy in a rush.
"we should really stop mingling with humans. it's too stressful."
JISUNG panted, still out of breath from the prior chase.

The stables were filled with muffled giggles, straw rustling and equines snuffling.

CHAN had a straw hanging from the corner of his mouth, squinting while looking up at the morning sky.
"all this needs is a little music."
he whispered, before starting to hum a little melody.

HYUNJIN, who had almost fallen asleep before, opened his eyes again, turning to stare at his older friend. he wished to be as creative as CHAN, all he was, was beautiful.
"watcha thinking?"

WOOJIN ripped HYUNJIN from his thoughts, as he smiled at the boy, who looked so cute lost in thought like that.
"oh, nothing. just that i don't compare to any of you. i mean, what can i do well?"
WOOJIN patted the younger's shoulder encouragingly, before taking a deep breath and starting to list every little thing about HYUNJIN he liked and why he was so special.

"i second everything he just said. you just need a soulmate. that's the one thing you're missing. much like all of us."
CHAN continued, a sparkle in his eyes, thinking about the adventure they'd be on soon.
