"So I went and stood in a dark alley, late at night, with no protection for a glowing box, so you could make a pill?" Jisung asked Chan. Chan just sighed. Jisung didn't understand. This is revolutionary!
Jisung stopped talking and sucked in a breath. Chan turned to look at him.
"Are you actually kidding me Chan?! I could've died for your stupid pill!" Jisung screamed at him.
"Calm down! You didn't die! You came back here! Their job was to deliver the package! Not kill people! You were fine."
"No, Chan, that's not okay! You put my life in danger!"
"Jisung, do you think I would ever ask you to do something shady like that if I wasn't able to watch over you? I put a tracking device in your backpack. You were fine."
"You could have told me that," Jisung said while blushing and looking away, embarrassed.
Chan pinched his cheek, "Cute."
"Whatever," Jisung tsked before walking back towards the box, "Can you explain this pill or whatever?"
"It's not just a pill, it's bigger than that."
"That still doesn't tell me what it does."
"It's hard to explain, but it can make you smarter. It kind of also depends on the person you give it to. It can cure diseases, amplify brain patterns, plus more. It's gonna help change the world!"
Jisung turned to look back at Chan, "And you're positive it's gonna work? What about side effects?"
"That, I cannot control. I still have to test it, and make sure it works."
"And how are you going to do that. Not sure many people would volunteer to have their brains tampered with."
Chan mumbled something inaudible.
"What?"
"I said, I was planning to test it on myself," Chan replied, looking down and playing with the hem of his shirt.
"Chan are you crazy? You could get hurt, or your brain could get messed up, or worse! I can't lose my best friend. You are not doing that."
"I didn't think it would matter..." Chan trailed off.
"You didn't think your own life would matter?" Jisung asked. Chan just looked down.
"Chan," Jisung said, "Look at me. You are important. You are not doing this."
"I have to."
"Then I guess we're both doing it then."
Chan looked up at Jisung with a shocked look on his face. "I can't let you do that! There's no telling what the side effects are and what could happen!"
"Well, then you can't do it either! We are in this together."
Chan sighs and nods, "Okay okay fine...but I do have another willing participant..."
"Who?"
"My other friend that you haven't met."
"Oh. That's all?"
"Well, you two are kind of the only friends I have so...yeah."
Jisung sighs, "Chan, I still don't feel well about this. What if something bad happens? What if it's irreversible?"
Chan stands up from his chair, walking over to his lab table and picking up a few tools, tampering with the glasses, "That's why we test it. That's also why I was only going to test it on myself, so nothing happens to you guys."
"Yes, I understand that, but we don't want anything to happen to you either," Jisung frowns.
"This conversation is going nowhere, Jisung. You aren't going to change my mind."
"Fine, but I'll keep trying," Jisung stands up, walking over to Chan and watching him work. As stubborn as he could be, Chan only wanted what was best for his friends.
As Chan kept working, Jisung slowly started to become tired, yawning every once and awhile.
"Sung, you're tired. Go get some rest."
"I'm not tired, I'm fine" Jisung says through a yawn.
"Yes you are. If you don't want to go home, at least go sleep in the side room. I made the bed this morning and added extra blankets, so it shouldn't be as cold as before," Chan stops working and looks up at him.
Jisung sighs and nods, yawning again and starting to walking away, "Okay hyung. Goodnight, I'll see you tomorrow."
Chan nods and mutters, going back to his work, "Goodnight."
He sighs as Jisung walks away, sitting back down and running his hands through his frizzled, white locks. He takes off his lab coat, turning off the lights in his lab before walking into the side room, seeing Jisung already asleep in the bed. Chan smiles softly, walking over and pulling the covers over him before walking the the hammock hanging from the ceiling and laying down.
"Goodnight Jisung."

Jisung wakes up cold again. He stretches, standing up and walking out of the side room. He walks through the rows of chemicals and supplies, standing in the doorway of the lab, "Hey Cha- Oh. Hello?"
Jisung tilts his head confused at the other presence in the room. Chan and the other man look at him and Chan smiles.
"Jisung, you're awake! This," he motions towards the other person, "is Changbin, my other friend I was talking about."
He furrows his eyebrows but puts on a smile, waving at Changbin, "I didn't know he was coming to visit today..."
Chan chuckles nervously and rubs the back of his neck, "I didn't either...He just wants to see the chemical and help with cracking the code."
"Oh. That's...nice I guess."
Changbin coughs awkwardly, turning the attention towards him and smiling half-heartedly, "I've heard nice things about you, Jisung. I'm happy to be working with you."
Jisung nods, walking towards the table and awkwardly fiddling with his shirt, "Right. Me too."
"Well, now that introductions are out of the way, should we get started?" Chan asked.
"Get started with what?"
"Cracking the code for the pill."
