Barry's POV

I awoke to the sound of a car door being closed, I slowly opened my eyes, but as soon as I remembered the current situation I was in I snapped my eyes open. I look around and immediately notice that I'm in a cage that is made of metal bars. I also noticed that it was night and that surprised me since I could see perfectly well, not only did it surprise me but it also made me feel a bit scared of the change since It felt natural to be able to see in the night. "just the instincts, that make me feel like this is natural, just the instincts" I try to reassure my self with my thoughts, I hear another car door being closed and this time I look around not to see my surrounding but to try ad pinpoint the location of the noise.

"success!" I think as I find the culprit of the noises. The culprit was a male that had a name tag on his chest and what it read made me wish I weren't a raptor anymore. "why do I get all the bad luck why can't I get someone like Owen, heck I would even prefer Claire over Hoskins, he'll try to use me for a field test, damn it" I think in fear. "alright I'll take it from here boys! Pack up and get going" Hoskins yells.

I hear a few groans and whispers about how hard they worked on getting me this far. "wait- where's here" I think as I look around furiously to try and find out where I am, "no-no-no-no-no-no-no! not yet not with the raptors yet please no!" I shriek as I spot the raptor enclosure in front of me, I then spot people approaching me and that was when I started to go ballistic and freak out. As soon as I saw who the approaching humans were though I start to calm down; it was Owen and Claire. "meet me over at the gate in 5 I need to talk to the raptor alone so I can try to rename him and prep him to enter the enclosure" Owen says.

"new name huh, that's actually pretty smart, I didn't even think of getting a new name so I don't get called Barry all the time and let everyone know I'm a velociraptor," I think to myself. "rename you said rename why would he already have a name?" Claire asks confused. "Well you never know he could've had a name when he was in his old pack, if he had a pack that is" Owen says. "he couldn't of had a pack we checked the whole island for rogue dinosaurs when we first arrived here to build the park and we found no velociraptors or velociraptor packs during that search" Claire says.

"well you obviously didn't do a good job of looking if you missed a velociraptor, and even if he didn't have a pack he had to have parents that named him, so he probably already has a name, so just stop asking questions already," Owen says. "Fine but you only have 5 minutes," Claire says before turning around and walking away. I let out a breath I hadn't realized I had been holding "nice save Owen" I think in relief. I watch Owen as he watches Claire leave, as soon as Claire is out of sight Owen starts to walk towards me.

"what the flipping hell are we going to name you, "the name I've always wanted," I say, but remember the communication problem right away. "how about Alexander" I write, "you're entering a velociraptor pack not a roman empire" Owen says. "how about Surge?" Owen asks after a couple of seconds, I think about it for a couple of seconds and decided to keep the idea, after all, there's not a lot of ways to get teased because of that name, and it's short and simple. "I like it," I write in the ground, "then Surge it is, also I'm assuming you came here to ask the raptors, so how di-" Owen gets cut off by Claire walking over.

"times up we need to get him in the enclosure now," Claire says strictly. "Ok, give me one minute I just need to make sure the entrance is prepped for entering the enclosure once he's in the enclosure we'll start the introductory do you see that light over?" Owen asks gesturing to a white light on top of the power box. "yes, I do" Claire says. "don't press the green button when you see that light turn from white to red" Owen continues while pointing at the green button on the side of the cage out of my reach.
