The bench outside the Headmasters' office was made of cold hard wood and somehow (as I took the time to add up the total in my head) this was the 5th time in the last four weeks of the start of Year 9 term that I had managed to end up here... I looked at my surroundings, as I had done so many times before, and saw a new frame on the wall in front of me, amongst the various awards and sport acheivements there was a news clipping and...what looked like a school, on fire! Looking at the hard oak door to my left (and suddenly realising that I was supposed to be waiting on the bench) I saw the broad figure of Matron and the other figure of the Headmaster who, I guessed, I would be talking to shortly. Matron ended their hushed, and slightly aggresive, conversation and opened the door, looking down on me in her opressing manner, she beckoned for me to go into the office. Taking care to stand lightly on her feet I crossed the office threshold and closed the door behind me...
