"Why does it havvve to beee soo cooold."she said trying to be as clear as she could be.
"Sierra you know we had to move."her mother said as gently as she could."I wish it wasnt winter though."she said shivering.
"I bet it will be warm in the house, come on!"her dad said.
As they entered the house she felt a shiver not a cold shiver a fear shiver it ran down her spine as though someone had taken a finger and ran it down her back.
"Why is this house so old?"her brother Max said.
"Its not old."her father said.
"Now go find your rooms."her mother said.
"I get the biggest room!"sierra said.
When they got upstairs there were two rooms.
Sierra ran into the right one. As she walked in there was furniture. Her mom and dad had mentioned there was furniture. There was a bed, dresser, a closet full of clothes, a record player, and a doll.
Sierra walked over to the doll it sat in a rocking chair. The doll was a raggedy Anne doll it had black button eyes, red and white legs, black feet, red hair, and a blue dress.
"Dad!" She yelled from her room.
"Coming!" Her dad yelled from down stairs.
Her father burst through the door. "What?" He looked at her with a worried face.
"Why is there furniture and this creepy doll?" She asked scared.
"Oh that's just from the past owners." Her father said softly.
"What happened to them?" She asked still nervous.
"Must have just moved." He said.
"Oh, okay..." She said more confident.
"You have nothing to worry about." Her father said with a smile. "Now come get your boxes." Her father said motioning to the door.
"Okay." She said walking softly so the floor wouldn't creek.
When she got down stairs she got a shiver down her back.
"Hello?" Sierra asked wearily. "Anyone there?" She looked around the corner at the dark dining room.
She walked slowly wondering what was waiting for her after she walked a few more steps.
She heard a small whisper from the closet. She put her ear up to the closet door. Then she heard a big knock. She moved back quickly.
The door suddenly started to open. Then her brother jumped out.
"Got ya!" Her brother yelled.
"Don't do that!" She yelled back at him. "Now go unload boxes!" She said pointing up the stairs.
That night Sierra went to sleep with the doll staring straight at her. "Well that's creepy..." She said looking right at its button eyes.
She got up and started searching through boxes. She finally pulled out a small laptop. She walked back over to her bed still looking at the doll. "What are you looking at?" Sierra said kind of shakily.
She walked over to the doll. Sierra put her hand on the dolls stomach and picked it up.
As a doll would its head tilted as if confused.
"Dad!" She yelled. There was no answer.
She set the doll down walking out of her room. She looked down the dark cold hallway. "Hello? Anyone there?" She said her heart pounding as if it was a hammer hitting a piece of wood.
She slowly walked trying to see past the darkness.
She walked slowly down the creeky stairs. She walked to the old telephone hanging on the wall.
"Come on please tell me this still works." She turned the numbers steadily trying not to mess up.
"Hello?" She heard her mothers voice.
"Hi, mom is that you?" She asked looking around making sure nothing was around.
"Yes, are you okay Sierra? You sound like you have seen a ghost." Her mother said as Sierra heard laughter in the background.
"Mom were are you?" Sierra asked almost in tears.
"We went out for groceries we will be there in like ten minutes." Her mom said hanging up the phone.
"Wait mom no..." But her mom had already hung the phone up. "Well this is going to be the longest ten minutes of my life."
Sierra put the phone back and ran back up the stairs. She ran to her room. When she walked in her computer was in the chair where the doll had sat only a few minutes before.
She looked around trying to find the doll. She couldn't see it anywhere. Then, she heard scratching. At first she had no idea where it was from. But then she turned around, it was coming from her closet.
She walked awkwardly slow to the closet. The scratching got louder and louder as she got closer. She grabbed the handle as though it was a bomb about to explode.
She pulled hard, but, nothing was there. She turned around quick. There, on her bed, sat a long stringy doll.
She was shocked, she couldn't move a muscle, she was as cold as ice. She didn't know what to do, cry? Yell? Beat the doll up?
She couldn't think as the doll looked at her. Just then, she heard the door in the front open.
"Sierra?" Her mother called. Sierra sat there deciding weather she should move or not. "Sierra? Are you okay?"
