"Lionel, Colt, I think we may have found something lethal prowling Vegas. I can't tell what this "something" may be except that it's a woman. She may be working with Edgar and the vamps possibly", Creed clarifies through his cell as he monitors the woman, who was carrying an injured blond human into a motel building.
"So she's a bloodsucker? Hell, I really thought this week we'd get at least a day off in hunting the damn enemy! This is such a letdown. I really wanted to go gambling and have fun. Guess that won't happen today, eh?" Lucas pouts, stubbornly, on the other side of the phone; as always he was with his twin brother, Lionel. "Shut up, Lucas. This could lead us to Edgar. You can have fun another time", Creed hears Lionel grumble, annoyed, from his cell phone. He couldn't help grin at Lionel's serious tone.
The guy's never one to take time to play around or crack a smile even if we go to Las Vegas. I really wish he'd loosen up once in a while like he had been in the past.
Creed lets out a tired sigh. "Sorry, Lucas. For today, we need to catch this woman and see what we can get out of her", he explains.
"You think she's a vampire possibly? The only others we've seen Edgar work with seem to be vamps, shifters, and a witch", Colt asks in a causal tone on the other side of the phone as Lionel lets him on the phone to speak with Creed.
"I can't really tell. She doesn't smell like one, but she most definitely seems to like the taste of blood. Yet her actions confuse me", Creed states as he pulls out a pack of Marlboro Lights and a lighter from the inside pocket of his jacket.
Placing a single cigarette between his lips, he slips the carton back in his pocket and lights the end of the strong musty scented piece of tobacco before he takes a long drag. He blew out a cloud of smoke and sighs.
"Eh? You've seen her feed on a human in broad daylight?" Lucas asks, surprised.
Creed leans against the building he was standing beside in an alley and scratches his chin with a grunt of annoyance.
Lucas always seems to end up asking the bluntest questions at times, which made Creed think the kid acted naïve just for fun.
"Some vampires don't even give a damn if humans see them feeding. Only the vamps with some sense know it's a threat to their existence if they feed where a lot of humans can suspect them. Rogues may be the only ones that go against the rules since they're outcasts to their own kind", he simplifies in a calm tone.
"Oh, that makes sense. So she's possibly a Rogue?" Lucas questions, curiously, as Creed takes another drag at his cigarette, slowly, inhaling its smoke.
The cigarette's smoke drifts through the cold air as he exhales. "Don't know. Possibly. But like I said she didn't have the scent of a vampire...yet she seemed to cause unwanted attention to herself so she may be a Rogue without a scent most vamps have. She killed a human Downtown without a second thought before a group of humans than ran off with an injured human woman", he informs the others as he looks up at the star-lit sky, his mind pondering over the strange dark haired woman.
"Damn, this woman must have a death wish. I hope the Elders don't get word of the situation. They're eager to kill Edgar. Even if the woman's not a vampire they'll torment her if they believe she has any connections to Edgar. You know how they can be with the enemy, Creed. Do you have any more details you need to inform us in on?" Colt; Zeta (general) of the Crimson Crest Pack, says in a solemn unreadable tone.
Creed glares at the sky as he remembers the last time the pack had gotten a hold of one of Edgar's allies. The Elders had a subordinate inject the male shifter with a lethal poison that had him suffering for almost a week and half as the subordinate and Elders had cut his body into pieces like savage animals as he refused to speak even through such pain. In the end, the man had died horribly and the Elders had no lead.
