The Restaurant Owner Mina (Sword Art Online fan-fic) [ON HOLD]

Day 4: The Christmas Evening

Today is Christmas day, the 24th December 2023. The restaurant are full with costumer and I've been there the whole day, cooking and serving. I got a break in the evening. I teleported to the 49th floor there some of my friends waited in the town Myujen, wanting to go around shopping a little which was very suitable since I had to look for ingredients. Since I hadn't bought any Christmas presents to the other guild members, I could also go around and see if I could find something suitable for each of them.

The first thing I saw then I arrived at the town square was the big Christmas tree, shining with decorations in all colors. Snow where lying all around and there were stands standing all around the square. There were four benches standing around the Christmas tree and on one of them sat my friends, Lily, Christine and Felicia. They shouted at me:

-Hey, you are finally here! We have been waiting for half an hour already!

-Sorry, they didn't let me go.

I said and they stood up, brushing of all the snow that had gathered on their laps. Lily is kind of shy and never dares to work alone. She has black long hair and blue eyes. Her face is cute and every time we go somewhere she always manage to get a guy hitting on her. Christine is more the protecting type, always protecting Lily in such situations and mostly the guys run away. Her hairstyle is kinda boyish with the color of brown and her eyes are black. Felicia just hangs around like me and she has her long blue hair put up in a twin tail hairstyle. Her eyes are a combination of gray and blue and I never get tired of her jokes. We walked around for awhile, looking on various things and I bought both some ingredients and some presents. We sat down at a cafe, buying ourselves hot chocolate, coffee and some Christmas cake after looking at almost all of the stands. It was much to look at, all kinds of jewelry, weapons and tools.

-Aah, this is so tiring.

Christine said drinking a sip of her chocolate.

-I agree this was more tiresome than I thought it would be.

Felicia answered taking a deep breath then sipping on her coffee.

-I mean seriously, isn't this a game? Why do we get so tired?

-Oh, just change this topic already, all this talking about tiredness makes me even more tired.

Lily said taking a bite of the cake then smiling like it was the most delicious cake in the world.

-Well, I admit we need to change the topic.

I said. My chocolate stood where waiting to get drunken up but it was still to hot for my taste so I took a bite of my cake. It was truly delicious. Every ingredient melted in my mouth and I felt an urge to take another bite.

-How about we exchange information about everything we have found out this week?

I suggested. And the others agreed, it started a wild discussion about who had heard right or wrong. I looked around the square again while the others talked. And something caught my eyes. A guy with a black cape facing away sitting on one of the benches around the tree talking to another one with a cape facing our way standing on this side of the bench. I recognized the black guys hairstyle and aura and then he stood up and walked away I immediately noticed who it was, it was Kirito. I was kinda surprised and a just sat there watching him walk away with a face full of pain and sorrow. What was he thinking about? I hadn't seen him for over a year and then I finally see him he had that face. My friends had stopped talking and were looking his way.

-Someone you know or maybe... someone you like?

Felicia asked looking at me with with a big smile. I could feel the heat going all the way up to my ears as I blushed. All three of them gathered around me, looking at me with big smiles.

-It, it isn't like that I just haven't seen him for over a year and the last time I saw him I heard something horrible afterwards and...

-So who is he really? What's his name? Where did you meet?

Christine asked.

-Well, it's not like I have ever talked with him I just saw him at the first floor boss strategy conference...

-What you never even talked to him?

-No, but I know his name...

-Oh, really? Tell us!

-It's Kirito...

-Hey, wait isn't Kirito the famous beater in the top?

Lily asked this time.

-I don't know, where did you hear that?

-From one of the guys who tried to pick me up. Apparently he joined a guild in the beginning of the year and in the end everyone in that guild but him and the captain died in a dungeon, the captain who where buying a guild house at that time did suicide after hearing the bad news.

-Oh my god! How horrible!

Felicia said. I just sat there taking in overwhelming turn of events of having to hear my best friend tell me such horrible news. But I didn't cry this time which I was proud about.

-Hey, then isn't he gonna go for that Christmas event quest?

-What Christmas event quest?

I asked.

-It's a legendary quest where at a certain time the boss Nicolas the Renegade appear at a certain tree in the woods and if you defeat him you get a revival item.

-Didn't Akihiko say that you couldn't revive the dead?

-Well yeah but there seems to be exceptions.

After that we were done with eating the cake we continued shopping. I said goodbye to my friends then we were done and took myself back to the restaurant. Then I came back everyone had prepared a Christmas party but I didn't want to participate so I just gave them their presents and the ingredients and walked to my room. I have never slept so bad in my whole life as I did that night.
