me and max are best friends.shes the best best friend i could ask for. shes sweet,funny,protective,and all that fun best friend stuff. i love her. lately it's felt more than a best friend love,but i don't know if i should tell her. "here's our weekly nerd rope madam y/n.." max said handing me half of a nerd rope we get every Friday as we sat on a curb. "thank you ma'am!"i replied and earned a giggle in return. for the rest of the night we laughed and told jokes as best friends.

today
im riding my bike to the gas station to get a slushie. today's thursday,which means tomorrow's nerd rope friday with max. as im about to walk into "hawkins mart" i hear laughing around the corner. it sounds like max's.she must be with the party,ill stop and say hi to them and maybe catch a movie with max. as im about to fully turn i notice its just max...with lucas. they're laughing. shes blushing and so is he. shes leaning her head on his shoulder, exactly like i did a year ago. then i notice whats in her hand. nerd rope."soo do you think y/n will ever find out about this..about us?" he asked. tears streaming down my face i turn the corner. "oh i-i think she will." i say as i look max,the once love of my life in the eyes. both hers and lucas's eyes widen. "y-y/n i can explain." she said. "goodbye max.." i said grabbing my bike."no. no,please." she said trying to stop me. "please,just don't forget about me.please" i said staring at her with watery eyes then riding away. nerd rope will never taste the same.
