Quirk- the ability to shake or vibrate so fast that you can faze through solid surfaces. If used too long can cause headaches or in extreme cases bleeding.
Pacing around my living room I checked the time once again. 10 o'clock. They should've been here by now. He said it would only take a few minuets to pick our mom up. Worried I fiddled with the sleeve of my school shirt watching as dark clouds hovered over our house.
Breaking out of my train of thought I hear my phone buzzing on the couch. I snatch my phone checking the i.d. and quickly answer it pulling the phone to my ear.
"What's taking you so long Mirio? You should've been back half an hour ago." I hear him sigh on the other line before he starts to speak. "There's a storm coming over us at the airport. They said the roads are closed, so there's no way for us to get home till it's over." Of course the day my mom has to be picked up from the airport there had to be a storm.
"You going to be okay?" With out even being able to look at him I could tell he had his brows furrowed in concern as he spoke. I take another look outside. "I'll be fine, so don't worry about me. Just stay safe and tell mom I said hi." I hear the boom of thunder on the other line as my brother says a quick good bye.
Once he hangs up I throw my phone at the couch and decide to go change. Opening my closet I pull out a pair of comfy pants and an over sized hoodie. Laying down I try to fall asleep early tonight. If I have any luck I can sleep through the storm with no problems.
With my incredible luck the storm began before I could even place my head on my pillow. The soft pitter patter of the rain was nothing noticeable for awhile. Faintly I heard my phone buzzing in the other room. I stood up walking to my closed door deciding it would be safe. Not even two steps in a spark of light lit my room for a brief second followed by the booming sound of thunder.
With red alarms going off in my mind I couldn't tell what I was doing until I found my self curled up in a ball inside my closet. More light came in through the cracking the door and I quickly covered my ears only slightly muffling the thunder. Sitting in the corner of the tight space I mumbled a song to myself trying to distract from the storm.
Why of all thing do I have to be afraid of something as common as thunder storms? I mean rain showers aren't bad, they're kinda nice even. Storms on the other hand send me running. Usually my brother is here to help me get through it. When I was little he'd build blanket forts in his room and we'd watch a movie on his computer. Without him here though I have nothing that could help.
I was so caught up in my fear I didn't notice the footsteps roaming through the house till they led right outside my bedroom door. Suddenly my closet door opened to show a worried Amajiki . "(F/n)! Are you okay?" For a second I stopped in my tracks. I haven't talked to Amajiki much with his bouts of anxiety, but out of everyone in the neighborhood he does seem to gravitate more towards our family. Especially since he best friends with my brother
"Amajiki? Why are you here?" I quickly popped up off the floor dusting myself off. Only for me to be back in the same spot right after another roar from the thunder. Tucking my head into my knees I hide my face. I don't talk to Amajiki much but I still don't want him to see me like this. With him being in his third year at U.A. and me in my first I don't want him to think I am weak.
After a few seconds the room goes dark again and a blanket is settled on my shoulders. I pull the soft fabric tighter around me and look up. Amajiki took a seat next to me giving a little space between us. His hair, normally fluffy and soft, now sat soaked aginst his skin.
Seeing as he was turning towards me I snapped my eyes over to look at the floor. "You never did answer my question. Why are you here?" He situates himself in the tight space to get comfortable. "Well... Mirio had asked me to...uh check up on you. He didn't tell me why , but it sounded- it sounded urgent when he called."
Did he run a whole block in the rain just to check up on me? That's so nice and all I'm doing is sitting here. Having my mind set I stand up letting the blanket slide off my shoulders. "Hey. Where are you going?" Before I could answer him I stepped over him and sped off into the bath room then Mirio's room.
When I came back I handed him a set of dry clothes. "I don't want you to get sick. They may be a little big but they should be fine." Amajiki hesitates for a second before reaching for the clothes. "Are you sure Mirio would be okay with this?" I nod with a warming smile. "Of course he would. Plus we can't have one of the big three getting sick, can we?" He finally takes the shirt and pants and heads to the bath room to change.
"Just place your clothes in the dryer for when the storm ends." I yell after him. Another flash of lightning goes off and I close my door before the thunder goes off. After a few minutes Amajiki comes back to see me hiding in the closet again. The clothes did fit well and weren't too big.
With the light still on his sides up next to me. "Here," I say as I placed a towel in his lap, "so you could dry off your hair." He takes it with a smile and cracks open the closet door to see what he was doing. "So how's UA going for you?" I fiddled with my hands trying not to pay attention to the storm raging outside.
"It's fine I guess. Class 1-B is pretty weird though." Muffled my the towel Amajiki starts talking again. "Can't wait to see them tomorrow in action." He pulls the towel around his neck and turns to me with pink tinted cheeks. "What do you mea-" Before I could finish my question the lights turned off putting us in complete darkness.
Within seconds I'm holding Amajik's hand and hiding behind him. He laughs lightly pulling out his phone. Turning it on it lights up the room enough to see. As the storm continued I jump every time lighting strikes. After Amajiki closes the closet door he wraps the blanket back around my shoulders and brings me closer to him.
"Are you okay?" I wrap my arms around the unusually confident boy. "I'm better now. Thank you for being here with me." Amajiki gently takes my face in his hands bring me in. He presses a light, fluttering kiss to my lips. Once realizing what he did he let his hands drop to his side and pressed his face to my closet wall.
"I just did that. Oh no. I just embarrassed myself in front of my crush. I just called them my crush to their face didn't I?" Hesitantly I place my hand on his arms turning him away from the wall to face me. "Amajiki did you say you have a crush on me." I feel my face heating up making me thankful it was dark and Amajiki didn't see it.
"I.. uh, yeah I do. I've liked you since middle school and I've wanted to tell you for awhile about how sweet and kind you are. And about how awesome I think you are amazing for being able to control your quirk and how I can only wish to be a good as you one and-" He pauses midsentence taking in a deep breath and leveling his anxiety.
"Sorry I'm rambling now. I never told you because I was afraid you'd think I was creepy, since I'm almost two years older than you plus I'm-" cutting him off I place my arms around his shaking figure. After a second of my face in the crook of his neck he let's out the tension in his shoulders and combs his fingers through my hair.
Without a word I shift into a more comfortable position with my head leaned aginst his shoulder. That night I completely forgot about the ongoing storm as we fell asleep limbs tangled together.
This was a shorter one but I
thought it was really adorable so I went with it. Word Count- 1517
