Jungkook kept staring at him, trying to find the Jimin he first met, the Jimin who had a loud mouth, spark that could never be dulled-well at least he thought. It scared him, the way Jimin just sat there, playing with his food, not uttering a word. He couldn't help but find it eery, strange seeing Jimin so quiet. He didn't like it, not one bit.
"Jimin? Are you feeling okay? You're not eating, I thought you said you were hungry." Jungkook holds himself back from reaching out to him, wanting to squeeze his little hand.
Jimin slowly looks up from his food, his eyes tainted with what appeared to be fear. Jungkook knew that look all to well, he could catch it a mile away.
"I'm fine, stop asking me." Jimin snaps at him, not sure why he did put he wasn't in the mood, his mind was somewhere else and he didn't need Jungkook bombarding him with questions.
Jungkook is taken aback, not expecting to spoken in that harsh tone. All he was trying do was to see if he's alright, making sure he was okay because he cared for him, one of the few people he did care about.
"I'm sorry Jimin, I'm just worried about you. You're not yourself, what did they do to you?" Jungkook remains calm, not wanting to sure his hurt.
Jimin doesn't reply, looking back down at his untouched food. He was hungry yet he couldn't stomach the thought of eating. He knew Jungkook was just being kind but why was it annoying him. He didn't mean to snap, he could tell even if Jungkook was trying to hide it he was hurt.
"They didn't do anything Kook, they just locked me in this white room for hours. There was no clock so I never knew what time is was or windows to get any fresh air. I just sat in that room with my own thoughts, my own fucking stupid thoughts." Jimin bangs his fist down, making a clanging of plates and cutlery.
A few people glance to him with conceded looks, Jungkook in reflex reaches out for him, grabbing his clenched fist, prying it open and stroking it gently with his thumb. Jimin attempts to remove from his grip but Jungkook holds strong, knowing he needed to calm him down.
"Why don't we go to the woods? It's the weekend so we don't have any sessions, we can sneak out." He suggests to Jimin, thinking the fresh air and surrounding of nature might help him.
Jimin thinks for a moment, the woods would be nice, he feels suffocated in here, maybe being outside would help.
"Outside? We can go outside?" Jimin blinks hopefully at him, Jungkook smiles his bunny smile.
"Yes, we can go outside." He squeezes his hand, quickly finishing up his breakfast.
Jungkook takes Jimin's hand in his, they had snuck out back, run into the woods before anyone could notice them. Jungkook had a bag holstered on his back, hanging off his shoulder while he dragged Jimin along. Jungkook kept walking, wanting to get further into the woods before they stopped.
Jimin let Jungkook hold his hand, he rather enjoyed the tingling feeling. The fresh air was already doing him some good, he no longer felt so suffocated. It felt freeing to be outside, like he could breath. They stop at a peek of a hill, there were rocks laid out big enough for you to sit on them.
Jungkook lets go of Jimin's hands, kneeling down to pull of the bag. He opens it, pulling out a blanket and container full of snacks he's accumulated over the past few weeks.
"Sit Jimin." Jungkook gestures for him to take a seat, patting the blanket which laid on the forest floor.
Jimin looks at him before doing what he asked, sitting down with his back resting against the rock. He watched Jungkook set everything up, lay out the food and the orange juice he brought, pouring it into two cups.
"What are you doing?" Jimin curiously asked, taking the plastic cup offered to him.
"I thought we earned the right to relax and I want to do something nice for you. You deserve this." Jungkook smiles so tenderly at him, shuffling back to sit beside him.
"I don't, I don't deserve this Kook." Jimin looks to his drink, he couldn't get his head out of its dark haze no matter how hard he tried.
Jungkook frowns, he thought this outing might help him but it seems it was doing anything but. He puts his drink down, taking Jimin's to, placing it on the ground.
"Jimin look at me." Jungkook grabs his trembling hands, squeezing them gently.
Jimin flicks his eyes to him, just focusing on him as it was all he could do. Jungkook takes a deep breath, keeping his gaze on him.
"Whatever you're feeling right now, this feeling of suffocation and fear won't last. You are not alone Jimin, I'm here for you. I'm so sorry I didn't stop them from taking you, for letting them do this to you. Please don't let them win, you can fight this. The Jimin I know wouldn't stop fighting, he'd scream, curse, give them what for. Please Jimin, please snap out of this because I don't want to lose you, I don't think I'll be able to survive here without you." Jungkook brought his hand up, wiping away the stray tear that fell from Jimin's watery eyes.
Jimin tries blinking away his tears, he didn't know when they started falling or really why they were but he couldn't stop.
"It's so fucking hard Kook, I keep reliving that night over and over again. It was my fault, I was the reason it happened-I was the reason I lost my sister." Jimin chokes out the words that haunted his dreams, he collapses forward onto Jungkook.
"I killed her Kook, because of me she drove drunk and crashed her car." Jimin wrapped his arms around his neck, Jungkook rubs his back, stroking his hair softly.
Jungkook didn't know what to say, he didn't expect those words to come out of his mouth. He feels Jimin jolt in his arms, sobbing into his chest.
"It wasn't your fault Jimin, her getting in that car was her decision not yours. She crashed that car not you, none of it was your fault." Jungkook held firm in his words, making it clear to Jimin what he was saying was true.
"But if I had been stronger, stopped him from touching me it wouldn't have happen." Jimin winces as the memories come running back, hitting him like a truck.
Jungkook tensed, stunned by what he said. He pulls away slightly to look Jimin in the eyes, he gently rubs his cheeks.
"Stopped who Jimin? Stopped who from touching you?" He looks for any sign, seeing how Jimin's eyes flash with guilt.
"My sisters boyfriend..he raped me that night. I was drunk, I couldn't do anything to stop him. I didn't want it, I swear Kook. He wouldn't stop, she walked in and saw us. It was the last time I saw her, she looked so broken, I know she hated me." Jimin felt like a weight had been lifted, like the pain on his chest finally eased.
Jungkook didn't say anything, he feared if he did it would only come out as choked sobs. So he just brings Jimin in, holding him tightly in hopes it would make it better, take away the pain though he knew nothing would.
"I'm so sorry Jimin, I'm so sorry." Jungkook held him strong in his arms, both enjoying the warmth of each other as Jimin let out all the built up feelings he's been holding in for so long.
After what felt like hours Jimin's crying stopped, instead replaced with tender snores. Jungkook looks down to see he had fallen asleep, he gently lays them both down, allowing Jimin to lay his sleeping head on his chest. He wipes away the salty tears that stained his cheeks, brushing back his hair to admire his beauty.
"I promise to never let anyone hurt you again, I'm going to be here to protect you." Jungkook whispered lowly, he knew he couldn't hear him but he wanted him to know he would always be there to protect him no matter what.
